Bernard was Alfa but had different characteristics to most, he thought a lot about Lenina and tells her that she would prefer to talk to her than to have sex but see him as a shame.
Bernard manages to listen to a conversation between Henry and his assistant where they speak pure bad things of Lenina, they realize that Bernard was listening to him that they offer a soma pill to forget everything and be happy but he refuses. They must travel to a wild reservation, it was a place where all the people were not had contact with the "happy world". Lenina is surprised when she realizes that the people there are very dirty and smell bad. There they know John "the savage", he read a book by Shakespeare, he was the son of the director of Utopia but kept him secret. Lenina realizes that she is pregnant, that was prohibited in the happy world so she decides to have her baby in the wild reservation.
Lenina takes a lot of soma to feel better, one day she is asleep and John realizes that she is in love with her.
The plot changes when John decides to ask Lenina marriage. She just wants sex because it was what was sought in the world she lived, the two thought very different at that time, they had different cultures, since John did not want only sex and reject her, both came from different places, they thought very different.
Some time later John learns that her mother is very sick, when she dies very sad but nobody understands it because in the happy world nobody thinks that death is important, he meets a delta group that is about to receiveTheir soma and John throw them out the window, begin to tell them that they will not be free without it.
John decides that he wants to have freedom, does not want to live in "the happy world" that everyone believes that it is. He goes to a lighthouse where he decides to punish himself, when people find out that John is in the lighthouse decideHe decides to hang the beams of the lighthouse, that way the book ends, with John’s body hanging.
