Anxiety is pervasive in people’s lives and it is a situation whereby someone feels unease, worried or have a fear of something. I chose to address this issue because it is a condition that every person experiences at some point without realizing the impacts or factors attributing to such a circumstance. Typically, many individuals do not know that anxiety is part of life, and when fear or worries overwhelm them, it becomes difficult to function appropriately. The feeling may seem to be so irrelevant and therefore almost negligible to be ignored, but it adversely interferes with people’s quality life. For instance, a job seeker might become nervous during the interview, and it may ruin his or her ability to answer questions correctly. Anxiety is unavoidable, so it is normal to feel uncomfortable, for example, a gentleman may become nervous while proposing to his partner. Other instances of mixed feelings are witnessed during a public speech, prize giving celebrations, financial difficulties or when stranded in unfamiliar environments. An essential point to note is that anxiety can, however, get so forceful or frequent such that it takes over individuals lives.

GAD is a long-term condition that makes someone feel anxious and uncomfortable about a wide range of circumstances or issues instead of a specific event. Individuals with this disorder struggle to recall their last time they had a relaxed moment, and another thought might as well occur concerning a different issue. Therefore, someone ends suffering some psychological symptoms like irritability, hardships in concentrating, chronic fatigue, difficulties in sleeping, stomachaches, high heartbeat or fearing social contacts. However, the symptoms vary from one person to another whereby some people will have complicated signs while others got few. Individuals with anxiety disorder tend to withdraw from their loved ones like family members, parents or close friends so that to avoid a feeling of worry. In other occasions, the GAD victims find themselves going to work as stressful and challenging and that concerns lower self-esteem.
Second, panic disorder is another mental issue that has made people experience panic attacks as a sudden period of intense fear. Individuals who panic a lot tend to accelerate heartbeat rate, leading to sweating trembling when talking or shaking. At other times, panic disorder makes a person experience difficulty in breathing due to shortness of breath, choking or smothering. Sudden and repeated fear attacks occur in a person as well as a feeling being out of control. Third, social anxiety disorder, also known as a phobia is another common mental problem. Statistically, over 13% of a population in a state are affected by aversion. The problem induces extreme fear in social situations where individuals expect to feel rejected, judged, embarrassed or fear to offend others (Priest 79). The problem could emerge from a teenage level and develop to reach adulthood since it is a long lasting overwhelming situation. Every person is likely to have experience phobia when sitting for an exam, driving a car for the first time, fear of heights, bridges or tunnels. Also, one may have a social phobia when meeting stranger, starting a conversation, during shopping or speaking on the phone. The fact is there are many types of anxiety disorders such as separation anxiety, depressive problems, obsessive-compulsive and post-traumatic stresses issues.
Another critical fact is that anxious people reveal certain facial expressions since they are quicker to perceive changes than people without anxiety. In this way, it becomes easy to deduce message and moods like someone fear, lies, sadness, or excitement. Women are prone to anxiety disorders than men, and their problem occurs at an early stage, striking them between puberty and age of fifty. Other related complications emerge as a result of anxiety disorders such as depression or substance abuse. From the findings, people who get diagnosed with problems like depressions and stress are reported to have anxiety problems as well. Additionally, some chronic complications develop along with discomforts associated with anxieties. For this reason, many physicians have acknowledged a connection between body and the mind. When someone is much stressed, he or she becomes susceptible to acquiring future disorders.
Many people tend to think that anxiety is hereditary since they have a family of the problem. On the contrary, some researchers believe that the problem is a learned behavior that has nothing to do with genetics. A consensus appears to show that anxiety result from the complexity of environmental factors. Good news is that anxiety can become efficiently managed through specific measures such as medication since the problem is not only a mental issue but also physical.

Usually, other concurring problems emerge as a consequence of an untreated illness, and this includes complications such as gastrointestinal disorder. Well, it is known that anxiety is a mental problem where a life of an individual is influenced by forces such as worries, fear, and dread. In a situation where one is extremely anxious, it becomes difficult to eat hence loss of appetite leading to digestive issues. Functional dyspepsia is an example of a possible digestive problem that affects people with feeding difficulties. The nerves responsible for regulating digestion processes appear to be hypersensitive to stimulate, and such condition induces abdominal pains which are chronic to endure. Someone is unlikely to attend daily activities with such complications, and this limits the people from engaging in the social world. An individual with mental disorders and other concurring discomforts feels less significant and weak to perform societal activities. A chronic disease like asthma is another consequence and become evidenced when someone experiences difficulties to breathe due to shock, fear or anxiety. For instance, when a person panic, he or she breaths uncontrollably increasing the heartbeat rates, and this make the airways constrict reducing the passage of air.
Social impairment is another resultant effect of anxiety disorder. In a situation like this, people tend to act less favorable or even perform worse when around others. For instance, consider a college student experiencing anxiety in a class where he or she is expected to deliver a project presentation. The outcome is that there will bad performance which will adversely affect end academic result. The similar case happens to a nervous adult attending business meeting late. Social problems arising from anxiety issues extend more complications such as engaging in unlawful acts. The feeling of loneliness and depression might compel someone to abuse substances thinking it is the right way to reduce the worse sense (Saneei 2). Not few people who hold false beliefs that drugs will empower them when doing a task. When someone disagrees that anxiety disorder does not ruin a social life, he or she is wrong because an individual with mental disorders interacts less due to public fear. For instance, in a classroom, students who talk less can ask and answers few or no questions during the lesson.
Causes of Anxiety Disorders in Adults
Life experiences such as personal relationships may cause anxiety problem. For example, issues like marital violence may significantly attribute traumatic events. Domestic violence is far much a severe action that can either be short-term or long-term disorders to many women. The short-term effects include anxiety, stress, shock, depressions, intense fear or suicidal ideation. Interpersonal treatments on the other hand support people address their current relationship issues with other people so that interpersonal skills can get improved. The number of times that someone needs to see a doctor or a therapist depends upon the nature and intensity of mental condition. Prolonged and severe anxiety will require frequent visits to therapies.
Medication is another solution to anxiety problems. Individual who suspect symptoms of mental illness should attend a screening test to assess the severity of the issue. Treating anxiety early is more advantageous to avoid other future complications if the problem does not get addressed. Individual ought to realize that stress is common and treatable. Therefore, the earlier it gets identified and treated the simpler it is to reserve the signs. A combination of therapies and medicine is helpful as patients will be advised to avoid substance abuse that leads to depressions; instead, right clinical drugs will get recommended. Another meaningful solution is to stay active by engaging in societal activities which induce happiness and comforts. In that way, individuals can freely interact without fear and learn to express themselves without panic.
