Assisted suicide refers to suicide which has been committed with the help of another person. This is a dilemma which entails many ethical and practical issues which are being encountered by healthcare practitioners across the world now. Several comments have been made by those who are pro or against assisted suicide, but the support from the public for euthanasia has never been stable (Back, Wallace, 1996). Some of the medical and healthcare practitioners have refused to take part in an assisted murder.
One of the arising questions is that what the legal issues with assisted suicide are for nurses. Nurses who are involved in assisted suicide, some the legal problems which have arisen prescription regulations, or having an informed consent as being practical. Nurses who participate in assisted suicide has been troubling form many factors (Van der Maas, Van Der Wal, 1990). One of the legal issues for nurses is that patients would not have chosen assisted suicide if proper care was given. For assisted suicide, it involves a lot of risks for nurses which lies under the criminal and professional laws. Some of the categories which have been developed for legal issues, this include active assisted euthanasia, indirect and passive assisted suicide
The conditions which should apply for assisted suicide are when the patient wants to end his or her life willfully. This may also include nurses withdrawing patients’ condition on life support.

But because of the patients’ conditions on life support, it might be difficult to get their consent (Emanuel, Daniels, 1996). Since I believed in assisted suicide; for some of the health conditions; even and only if when monitored by health physicians. The medical condition of the patient should be that of constant unbearable and mental suffering which cannot be alleviated. States which support assisted murder are California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington.
