Costa Rica and its historical festivities

Some parties that take place in Costa Rica are the Palmares Festivities, the Santa Cruz and the Limón Carnival Festivities. The Palmares party is celebrated the first week of January. It consists mainly of ‘two weeks of concerts, bullfights, traditional dances and free liberation in general’ (holidays and ryan van velzer festivals). This party is held in a town that is approximately one hour from San José. This party is different from other festivals because it presents several concert series. About more than one million people attend this festival because it is like no other and it is said that it is one of the largest festivals in Costa Rica. One of the main reasons why this event is so important is because it is free for all people, but sometimes you may have to buy tickets for certain places.

Another party in Costa Rica is the Santa Cruz party. This holiday takes place the week of January 15. This event includes ‘typical music, folk dances and bullfights to honor the black Christ of Esquipulas in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste’ (Ryan Van Van Velzer’s festivals and festivals). During this event there are many different colorful parties and different types of Costa Rican food. Santa Cruz is mostly known for its cultural heritage as folk dances and also for its historical traditions such as Holy Week. Another tradition that is well known worldwide are bullfights.
