Creativity
Creativity is the ability to convert one’s thoughts into useful products that improve the way people do things or generally impress particular population. According to Mumaw (2012), we have been made to continuously believe since childhood that if we are not able to paint or draw we lack creativity. He suggests that creativity is neither magic nor exclusive to artistry, it is just applying skillful problem-solving techniques. If there are no problems to solve creativity is bliss. Often, individuals who lack creative ability believe that it is impossible to create innovative ideas. Mumaw (2012) strongly believes there exist several unique ways by which one’s imagination can increase inherently, but such methods are rarely available formally.
The uniqueness a solution provides to a particular problem is its novelty. This degree of measurement according to Mumaw (2012) is inexact since there are no defined methods of determining novelty. He goes on to explain that one’s ability to solve a problem with innovation is something one can learn. Mumaw (2012) states that continuous practice does not make a task easier but only improves your capability in doing the job. Hence, creativity does not rely on the inborn ability that one has. Instead, one can develop creativity through learning and training.
