Hello (First Classmate). I enjoyed reading your post. It perfectly describes Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. I also did a random search and found out that whatever you have noted about MPAS are factual. In Michigan, MPAS is the independent organization mandated by the state government to advocate and protect rights of persons with disabilities. MPAS carries out this responsibility by pushing for systemic changes that support the interests of individuals with disabilities. The organization also sets priorities to ensure to that it addresses the most urgent needs of persons with disabilities.

Hello (second classmate). I completely agree with you on this post. Fair Shake Network is one advocacy organizations pushing for interests of persons with disabilities in West Virginia. I also concur with your finding that Fair Shake Network was established in 1992 to look into the affairs of persons with disability in West Virginia because found out the same in my random search. I would like to add that FSN’s primary aims are to push for policies that contribute towards independence, self-determination, inclusion, and integration of people with disabilities into their communities, both at national and state levels. Just as its name suggests, FSN works around the clock to ensure that persons with disabilities get a ‘fair shake’ in public policy development.
