Athena Health
Athena health Inc. is a new technology that has revolutionized the field of healthcare with the innovations that have come up. It is a company that makes use of an extensive database to provide services from the cloud as well as electronic records and care coordination. I chose this particular technology as I work in the healthcare industry and is my field of work I found it necessary to explore. It is an application which enables patients to access health care from the providers. At the same time, the providers enjoy its ability to reduce workload considering its instinctual user interface. The needs to ensure they provide better healthcare services to their patients by bridging the needs of their clients and improving the experience when interacting with the interface Working as a nurse, I have realized how critical patients’ records, payments, and booking appointments need to be streamlined.
Athenahealth started back in 1997, and the time it was referred as Athena Women’s Health. The forefathers were Todd Park and Jonathan Bush who had a vision of creating a comfortable and comprehensive center. The following year, Mark offered to buy off the software, but the duo declined. However, they followed Wilson’s instinct and transformed their operations. Shifting from birth centers and inclining to model healthcare internet. The software was to help in management, and it allowed doctors to focus on their work and avoid unnecessary paperwork while handling diagnostics.

The headquarters were initially in Waltham but later moved to Watertown in Massachusetts up to date.
The software was to transform the business model by improving healthcare services to the patients. It is software management that helps to keep records of patients and make use of records in providing healthcare to meet needs of the patients. The benefit of the software management was to streamline healthcare provision as the needs of the patients were addressed.
Smart Watches
Apparently, one of the modern emerging technologies in the medical industry is the introduction of smartwatches. Other than the basic role of indicating time, they are entrenched in a manner that allows the measuring of the body blood pressure and even the altitude levels while carrying out exercises. With such improvements, one can determine his physical health status through the results shown by such watches.
Additionally, the devices have the capability of calculating a person’s number of steps per unit time which plays a vital role majorly for the obese people who want to reduce weight. Also, the smartwatches are capable of calculating the heartbeat rate and calculating the rate at which human calories are burned in the body. Therefore, with the medical device, one does not necessarily need to visit a health center for basic checkups that can be handled by the device.
Computational Photography
Just as the name suggests, computational photography incorporates the use of specific data and sensor rays so that the resulting photograph is of high definition and quality without any form of editing. The importance of such photography in the medical industry is that it helps the medical practitioners in taking photographs of body parts that need to be observed, mostly the internal organs. A primary reason why this technology is good to be embraced is that it possesses no side effects like the X-Ray beams hence reduces cases of cancer.
