Children of divorced families experience less financial assistance and emotional support from parents.
Divorce impacts the couple by reducing happiness and increased emotional issues.
Benefits of the legal divorce process are the provision of parameters for spousal support, child support and co-parenting
The consequence of divorce is that it is a complex and very stressful process.
Theories that apply to marriage and family
The three theories are:
Symbolic interactionism- individuals see each other as family members.
Critical sociology- family unit s not dependent on the changes in the economic structures.
Functionalism-family is a group that carries out crucial roles in the society (Little et al., 2012).
Conclusion
In conclusion, people in marriages may end up divorcing and then remarrying again. If they have children while entering in the marriage, then the result is a blended family. Divorcing helps in abandoning an unsuitable partner leading to a happy life. Individuals who remarry or have stepfamilies are likely to be in a stable and satisfying relationship than those who marry for the first time.
