Gender difference: Women’s underestimation

The woman has lived a complicated role in the history of humanity, has always been seen as an ornament, such as being designated to fulfill certain functions in society and the ability to expand her skills is not seen. Over the years, the woman has been able to leave her comfort zone and realize that she is an important being within society; Thanks to this thought, different protests and movements have been achieved through the world as protest for the rights to vote or be considered a citizen. After achieving these rights, he began to be an intellectual and independent woman, he did not comply with just being a housewife or a woman who worked without being able to handle his income, so the ones arranged on having a word in the economy began with actions such as power as powerobtain an inheritance, receive a salary or be part of a company. On the other hand, we have controversial factors such as racism, sexualization and religion, where machismo has been presence since time immemorial where women are still forced to perform certain actions either by necessity or lack of consent.

To heal this gap, several social measures have been taken but the truth is very few results, although it is true several achievements have been achieved but it has not been possible to find total protection towards women, for example salary inequality; This is lived in many companies since the stereotype is maintained that men have greater skills than women, because women are the ones who get pregnant and "lose" nine months of work or simply for pure machismo.

Wait! Gender Difference: Women’S Underestimation paper is just an example!

"He says that the salary gap between men and women is close to 20 percent, female unemployment bends to that of men, he argues that there is a correlation between gender violence and economic autonomy," data given by the SenateFrom Colombia, a clear evidence that there is still, this inequality is still real and that thanks to this inequality there is an increase in the unemployment rate leading to poverty and others.

Likewise, there are the obscene and grotesque comments that women already take as part of their daily life. Whenever women go to the streets they constantly live verbal abuse, they receive comments that do not want to hear from men who only see it because of physical appearance. This harassment can seriously affect a woman, makes her feel uncomfortable with herself, she feels any one affecting her moral. Although not all men are like that, it is inevitable to go to the streets and not receive a look. This is one of the main social problems to which a solution has not been provided. As much as campaigns and groups are seen to defend women, women are not completely free, it is not free to dress as you want, or walk with whoever wants without being judged. An example can be the movie "The scandal" by Jay Roach, where a woman is sexually harassed by Fox’s owner, she does everything possible to show that she is not defamed, resulting in that she has not been the only one who hasbeen harassed by this man;Although it is a film, it demonstrates the reality that some women live and cannot speak since that would depend on their work and professional career. Unconsciously women get used to this treatment that already see it as what it should be, macho imaginary are generated unintentionally and increasingly affect more.

However, the image of the woman has risen high and is better at each time. Now women occupy public positions such as the mayor of Bogotá Claudia López, they are Business Chiefs and others, they handle money without the need for someone to prevent it, they are women who can work on what they please. Stereotypes are being broken, it looks how each person can dress and express themselves freely, as men support feminism and instead of going against women they support them. The woman looks high and is achieving many things, it is no longer like in the previous times where only the man was obeyed, and the mother can correct, the teacher can dictate, the journalist can explain, the player can play and many casesplus.

Finally, we can affirm that there have been very large changes for women, that the generations of now have many more privileges than those of before and much has been achieved, that today as a woman I have rights such as studying and working, but despiteSo many progress there are still problems, it is still the reality for many women and with the fact that it is no longer seen in our environment does not mean that others do not live it. Women and men united we can achieve great change and thanks to the effort of governments and different organizations such as UN Women or Unifem we can achieve much more until the day where women are worth what it is and not for what it appears andthat abuse is not an impediment to better development.
