Hand Sanitizer and Framing Messaging: Discussion of the Study
Hypothesis
The study hypothesized that there was a relationship between messages that were meant to promote hand-washing and the number of people that used hand sanitizers. The findings of the study indicated that there was a positive relationship between framed messages on hand washing and the number of people that used hand sanitizers.
Literature Review
Previous studies on the subject supported the findings of the study. Results by other studies indicated that framed messages have a higher likelihood of being understood and implemented by most people. Studies also showed that people respond well to framed messages that explicitly sought to encourage the use of hand sanitizers. Findings by Updegraff, Emanuel, and Gallagher, for example, made similar conclusions as those made in the study on the effectiveness of framed messages (1)
Strengths and Limitations
A key advantage of the study is the fact that the study used both primary as well as secondary data to answer the research questions. Responses were collected directly from research participants on whether framed messages influenced their decision to use hand sanitizers, which was compared to theoretical data on the same from previous studies. A fundamental limitation of the study was the lack of sufficient time to interview more respondents. Due to the lack of enough, data collection was done online. A smaller sample was also used for the study, which also negatively impacts on the accuracy of the findings (Faber and Fonseca 1).

Study of Standards
All the secondary data included in the study was cited according to the American Psychological Association’s standards on referencing. In-text citations were provided for each source used in the author-date format, while a comprehensive bibliography included details of all the sources.
Future Research
An analysis of possible areas for future research was included in the study. For future research, it uncertain that signs influence the use of hand-sanitizers usages. Therefore, for a better response experimenting on the campus could be conducted for better results. I believe that will be an excellent way to get a response if the signs affected them or not. Overall, I think that bad timing was a considerable limitation to my research.
