Positive and Negative Impacts of the Food Fair Event
Positive impacts of the event on the host community are associated with the benefits the event brings. They can be traced from the environment, social and economic levels (Bretz, A. 2010, 13). In this case of event hosting, therefore, impacts are evident through socio-cultural benefits that are portrayed on bonding, the creation of awareness of food culture, community host pride and bring more sense of cultural identity with their type of food (Pad Thai Nodule). Through showcasing of the local culture and traditions, the pride of the community increases. This is one of the major benefits of event hosting in the community.
The fact that the host community showcases their culture to the outsiders will be of essence to the visitors who in turn feel and have a clue on what it takes to have a root of cultural belonging to the host group as the host depicts satisfaction and pride in their cultural history of food (Bretz, A. 2010, 16). Since the food fair event leads to creation in awareness and exposure to the customers (food fair guests) in turn will improve the economic situation of Thai food as they may opt to further their interests thereby seeking to adapt to Thai food culture. This creates an exchange in which food from Thailand will be brought into the country in which trade between the host country and Thailand will be enhanced.
Negative impacts on the other hand, are the problems and misfortunes that event hosting brings to the host community.

Since events attract huge masses of people, the congestion brought about has a negative socio-cultural problems evident that, it will be hard for the host community to have their standard privacy as the event disrupts normal routine practices as host spend most of the time to teach of eating habit and preparation, congestion brought about can also be manifested through series of traffic hence lowers the capabilities to go about daily economic gains and work. The event in which they will add up costs in transportation to Thai markets has a negative impact on their economic echelons.
The food fair event also has a negative impact on the environment through the end waste and garbage that are obtained at the end of the event. The likelihood of poor management of wastes among the festivalgoers is so inevitable. In such cases, the environment at the end of the event shall have a massive tone of wastes which causes environmental pollution. To manage wastes effectively, the event organizers should aim at controlling and providing additional dumping points to cement waste control initiative.
Skills needed for effective planning of the event tasks the organizer to deliberately facilitate and implement them to ensure success in the event. As an organizer, creativity is an essential skill that is required for every event. Creativity enhances host environment hence makes it attractive (Carter, L. 2013, 14). The food (Pad Thai nodule), preparation and presentation to the tourists, ought to enhance through creativity. Outstanding creativity should also aim at giving the event an excellent presentation to make it stand out. A presentation is a key skill therefore in which will make the event attractive and achieve great success due to the liking of the guests. Another skill important in the event planning is the provision in customer care services to the clients. This proves a duty of care to the visiting. In return enhances good relation and ties within event hosts and visitors. The organizer could provide additional information on how the food is prepared and its benefit to health. Other skills include organizational skills, flexibility, budget allocation skill (stewardship) to ensure that there is no food that is wasted and serves all the guests, and multi taxing (Champman, M. 2017, 23).

Set up of event This event will take place in a hall on the 3rd floor which is much bigger to accommodate seats for all guests in addition to showcase equipment. The venue will be decorated with Thai cultural arts presented in drawings and exhibitions. The guests will get entertainment from Thailand Diaspora group in dances and songs from their cultures. The guests will be served after that under which the event has factored in particular points to access food cultures. The event is keen also to consider safety in food and of the host and thereby have taken additional measures to adhere to health standards and also have installed well-serviced functioning cooking and serving equipment.
Event coordinator/ contact person Target audience This promotion targets the overall school population who are not conversant with the Thai food culture. The audience ought to be aware of the Thai food culture, preparation, and presentation. The presentation is aimed at ensuring that the guests develop interests in understanding and acknowledging Thai food culture
Message Thai food culture is an important way of promotion of healthy dieting that provide positive health and fitness through essential and vital components it brings to the body.
Objectives The food fair aims to showcase the rich diversity in Thai Pad nodules and delicacies thereby creating awareness on Thai’s rich food culture. The event presents the best of food and also provides entertainment to guests to enjoy the day of immersion in a variety of tastes in Thai food, music, and fun.
Description of the event The food fair is a food festival which is being held for the first time and uses Thai food culture as a central theme for the event. This event is aimed at promoting and showcasing Thai culture.
Risk assessment Safety of the guest is one of the main concerns. Safety arises from levels of personal security and towards the provision of healthy food that ensures positive health that does not cause harm to individual health. Event equipment is also a major concern for a risk. The strategies in place to mitigate these risks include the addition of security at the fair, testing of food to ensure standards are met and also ensure that the security in place control crowd movement is making sure that they only access equipment that is on their reach at the food fair event.
Evaluation criteria established The food fair aimed to showcase and explore Thai food culture.
The food fair proved positive results as the guest appreciated more on the food culture
The intended outcomes include the fact to instill Thai food culture in other population to ensure cultural integration
Tools used to measure success involved suggestion box in which the guests filed their reviews on. The event had positive outcomes. People shared different skills on how to prepare different meals. We shared different local products which many people did not even know existed. The main objective of this event of sharing Thai-heritage and culture was achieved. Lastly, the event brought the participants closer.
Some of the unintended outcomes included the unplanned amount of dishes, the large number of attendants and communication barriers with the locals. Generally, the event was effective: everybody liked the dishes. The effectiveness of the event was rated through the opinions in the suggestion box and interviews during the event.
Visitor’s satisfaction: Everybody went home with a copy of Thai food recipe. Everybody was appreciative of this event and urged the team to prepare this kind of event yearly.
