Privacy today is something that most people do not have enough information and normally accessing an application or registering on a web page usually gives “I accept the terms and conditions” without reading a single word of the word of thedocument.

It is a very common mistake to do this to accept something without reading it, but do we really know what we are accepting? Many people think that they are simple terms and conditions and what they do not know is that in those terms where that person does not enter, they explain how they collect the data and how they are used. Internet ignorance is something that is very expanded, people believe that no one can access the information on their phone because it is private, or to the photos of your gallery or the messages it sends, but that is not true.

On the other hand, some of the most popular and used social networks will be analyzed and the data that these applications collect from their users will be put on the table, after this, surveys will be carried out to see the degree of misinformation about privacythat you have today and we will assess the contrast among the oldest people with the youngest.

Goal

With this project we intend to analyze the manipulation of personal data within the main social networks over the last years. We seek to raise awareness of what this data entails in this type of applications. For this we will carry out an investigation by observing some social networks such as WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, accompanied by a field work trying to collect real cases to demonstrate the misinformation in the users of these applications.

We will study several objectives:

• Evaluate the general misinformation of society.
• Find out the strategies that follow to maintain their privacy.
• Know the frequency of use of social networks.
• Evaluate the risks to which they are exposed.

Developing

Social networks are an leisure tool, which can be very funny, but you have to use them with common sense. Not knowing the options offered to us, can lead to making mistakes. One of the aspects to take into account is that of privacy, with this we refer to the control of the information that a certain user has that connects to the network, interacting with various online services in which it exchanges data during navigation. 

This privacy can include both personal identification information and non -personal information. We are talking about everything we transmit on the Internet can be filed, whether our messages or visits to different websites, through the cookies we accept, or spam. With this we want to get to our device has been connected to the Internet, our information becomes a public domain.

All Internet users get access through an Internet services provider, these only collect information to provide connectivity, but these data must go through an ISP that collects all user information, posing important privacy problems, because the ISP observes all the activities we carry out on the web.

Search engines also have great importance on this topic, for years they have the ability to track a user searches, thus obtaining personal information according to their searches, accounts, even IP address. The most remarkable thing is that they have claimed the need to preserve that information to improve search services. Since 2009, Google customized its search engine, thus allowing you to remember all user data from the first moment that connects to the network and thus filtering advertising.
