Racism issues have been affecting the standards of living of various individuals, especially in America.
It is evident that medical service provision is not accessible to some people due to the problem of racism.
Financial racism is also an issue, especially in the urban communities.
Wealth generation among various individual is at times difficult due to racial discrimination; immigration also can be denied due to racism.
Changing laws can lead to a reduction of this problem
Researchers have proofed that the problem of racism can be done away with by use of legislation.

Also, it affects an individual’s well-being because they are denied access to education, jobs, and other services. All these problems will make the victims lag behind in development hence making them live in poverty.
Racism adversely affects the environment of health care and on those getting health care facilities. In the medical services field, differential access to the fundamental and preventive human services is limited to individuals from the preferred groups. The income and wealth generated by the white Americans due to their access to sufficient resources were massive. The wealth has been transferred from one generation to the next. This inheritance has enabled the whites to go on providing better housing, food, education and other socioeconomic amenities for their children. The blacks, on the other hand, continue to live in poverty because of the restriction to the access of resources. The unfair enrichment led to unfair impoverishment for the black Americans. Together with the continuous white discrimination, they have led to the passage of poverty among the African Americans from one generation to the next (Augoustinos, M., and D. Every 255)
The white American domination and expansion were in the form of genocide, slavery, and oppression. This domination resulted in the economic exploitation of the black Americans. The directly involved whites, on the other hand, gained more wealth, income, and assets. This type of economy was based on slavery systems and commercial enterprises and farms and later led to the rise of de facto segregation and racial exploitation. The same economy has largely favored the economic status of the white Americans whereas the blacks continue living in poor standards owning very little or no wealth at all (Harrell, Shelly P. 43). It resulted because of the exploitation enhanced the assets of the whites substantially and increased the economic mobility.
The immigration problem is another issue that has been greatly posed by racism. Many governments react in several ways to the arrival of refugees in their country (Osler, Audrey and Hugh Starkey 208). They may send them back or admit them to wait for the decisions of the courts and the bureaucracies about their request for asylum. The refugees, many at times referred to as ‘economic refugees,’ encountered unfavorable decisions by the courts of the country they seek asylum in. Many of them were sent back to their country of origin and sometimes faced the risks of imprisonment, harassment, and death upon their return. This kind of treatment is illegal because states have a fundamental obligation to protect these refugees by refraining from deporting them and exposing them to the dangers of their home country. Additionally, the people that sought asylum started being seen as offenders that caused crime in the borders. For this reason, immigration became a huge issue that was mainly as a result of racism.
Laws that can be changed to curb Racism
Even though it is natural for individuals to prefer people from their race to others, legislation can be utilized to reduce the effects of racial discrimination in the society. Laws can be changed to ensure that all the people have equal opportunities regardless of their race. The government should ensure that these laws are existent and are strictly followed. Also, it should be made illegal to target a person based on their race. Although these laws will not change what people think or feel about others, they can prevent them from acting upon their beliefs. Additionally, we all have to realize the task of ending racism concerns all of us, so we should all be accountable. Companies and institutions can also be told to recruit individuals and students without basing on their race. This idea will enable anyone to get accessed to development opportunities.
In the medical sector, laws should be change to ensure that the acts that prevent the minorities from accessing the health care services are minimized. Also, the laws should be able to reduce the discrimination acts that make the patients from the minority groups unable to obtain the health care they deserve. Additionally, the healthcare providers should be educated on the cultural differences and be encouraged to appreciate the diverse races. In this way, everyone will be offered the health needs they deserve without bothering to know the race or ethnic group they are coming from. The training will also reduce the biases that lead to the rise of unintended discrimination in the medical sector.
In the workplace, the laws should be changed to allow for recruitment that is neither cultural nor ethnically biased. Racial prejudice will be reduced if the staff is diverse while racism will be reduced if power is shared equally in leadership. The recruitment can be done by looking for staff in places where people from different ethnic groups and races can be found. Also, there is a need to embrace international as well as transnational solidarity so that we can live together in unity. There must be a law that ensures the availability of a committee that enhances inclusiveness and fair policies in the organization (Osler, Audrey, and Hugh Starkey)

Laws that ensure that all the schools or institutions have a diversity club should also be established. This club will be useful in creating awareness among the students and training them on ways of preventing racism. Anti-racism education should also be included in the school curriculum to ensure that every student recognizes the other cultures thus shun from racism (Lentin, Alana 37). Develop procedures for dealing with racist acts and provide incentives for example extra credits, special recognition for efforts to promote cross-racial understanding. People should also be encouraged to be loving and welcoming to others regardless of their race. Achieving this will improve unity among the people as well as solve the problem of racism.
In conclusion, racism is a threat to individual development, especially to the victims. To solve this problem, people should be taught the importance of valuing diversity. All the organizations and institutions should appreciate diversity so as to enhance development in the society. Although these changes cannot be accomplished easily, step by step transformation should be encouraged. The small steps are necessary since they pave a way to a deeper understanding of diversity, appreciation of different ethnic groups thus the reduction of racism.
