Personal Goal Statement

Communication has been my great passion since the Olympic Mascots after my involvement with numerous press releases on the subject. My main motivation to pursue communication and journalism at a higher level revolves around the urge to spread important information to different parts of the world. As I was born in the Qinhai-Tibet Plateau in China, I am concerned greatly with the Beijing Olympic Games and the news about the Tibetan antelope in the Olympic mascots. It is quite difficult to acquire great grades in from the Qinhai-Tibet Plateau to Beijing but, as a result of my hard-work, I managed to achieve success. Having attained my Master of Communication from the University of Chinese Academy Sciences, I am interested in pursuing a PhD in communications. The knowledge I gained right from my undergraduate journalism degree at Minzu University of China equipped me with the requisite skills. I am well-versed in research and acquainted highly with the tenets and scope of communications, as a field of study and ultimate profession. My other motivation for pursuing a doctorate degree in communications involves my desires and yearns to solve various problems in the society through different media networks. During one of my research projects, I delved into news and social media platforms in China. My ability to understand subjects that are keen to detail assisted me in deciphering the scope of networks such as WeChat. The application, WeChat, was developed by the Tencent Company in China.

These methods will improve my efficiency while carrying out similar activities under the PhD study. The skills I acquired during my postgraduate classes are requisite in ensuring that I continue attaining high grades even while pursuing my doctorate degree.
Owing to the gradual increase in my GPA, it is clear that I am a fast learner. If I am offered an opportunity to pursue a PhD, I will continue to augur positive results due to my determination. The improvement in my grades was based on better language delivery, research skills as well as motivation. In addition to studying journalism at Minzu University of China, I also accrued my GPA from studying some units in English, Literature and Writing. I worked as a volunteer with CNPolitics in China and was exposed to different scopes of communications such as editing, publishing and production of videos, among others. During this time, I learned that I was able to work under pressure because I attended school and worked simultaneously. The internship that was offered to me by Tencent Computer System Co. Ltd. impacted my knowledge in communications positively. Apart from offering editing services in the company; I was affiliated greatly with online and digital responsibilities which boosted my knowledge of these platforms. Working as website designer with Dreamweaver also bettered my internship experiences while I was still pursuing my undergraduate degree.
These research projects and research skills are useful in analyzing statistical data. Such strengths are essential due to the in-depth scope of PhDs and indistinguishable intellectual capabilities. Skills in collection of data, analysis and evaluation are important to ascertain proper research projects. My exposure to social network analysis is a great booster to my research skills due to its influence on my knowledge of research methods. Apart from acquiring communication skills through my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, I also possess skills and certificates. In addition, I possess analysis skills that are quite important in proving my proficiency in these PhD classes. My research achievements published in the Journal Paper and International Conference, respectively. These documents are important in offering substantial information about my prowess in research analysis; a directive that will impact my research projects positively. Additionally, the journal paper ensured that I explore cross-media, trans-media, the ARMA model and inter-media. My knowledge on traditional media is also notable in detailing the documents that I used for research analysis. I understand that the PhD program focuses more on practical rather than theoretical data and information (Kurbanoğlu 339). I am under the guidance of Professor Zhang. He has assisted me in completing projects on Social Media and Evaluation of Popular Science. My main task is to gather and collect information from the internet and teach them on the basis of literature. The ability to accept both positive and negative criticism is important in ensuring the successful pursuit of the PhD course of learning. The instructors molded my research abilities, fluency in language and overall affiliation with motivation.
In fact, these projects assisted me in understanding the difference between quantitative and qualitative research. I learned the benefits and drawbacks of both research methods hence; impacting my suitability to pursue the PhD study. After pursuing my doctorate degree, I plan to work with one of the best media houses so as to impact the field of journalism and communication. With this knowledge, I will manage to handle more complicated research projects within the PhD course of study. I choose to study the PhD program in an attempt to improve both my knowledge on communications as well as my chances of securing substantial employment opportunities in the field.Works Cited
