Abstract
The mental health as defined by McNally is the measure of the psychological status of a person and the functionality of the brain that contributes to the satisfactory of the behavior and emotions (2011). Considering the positive psychology, mental health is the ability to have a harmonious lifestyle and the act of creating an environment of achieving the psychological resilience (Marini& Stebnicki, 2012). On the other aspect, the mental illness creates the contrast in which an individual poses dissatisfactory in emotions due to the mental disorders. This study is essential in identifying the impact of mental illness in the society and to the world in general. The World Health Organization (WHO) report indicates that mental health encompasses the ability to accept reality and cope up with the stress and contribute positively to the society (as cited in Nydegger & Basile, 2011, p 34). Further according to Clifford Beer, the mental problem is one of the contributing factors to the burden of disabilities in the world (as cited in Kiraly & Sher, 2015, p.27). The increasing numbers of mental illness estimates to 5 peoples out of 10 have a high risk of getting mental problems. This mental disorder is a common attribute to the low-income countries and cuts across all age groups, gender, and the social structures.
Introduction
In the 19th century, a scholar Sweetser William discovered the mental hygiene to be the contemporary issue of ensuring positive mental health (as cited in Marini & Stebnicki, 2012, p.

16). The American Psychiatric Association connoted that health hygiene is the art of preserving the mind from negative affluence that could deteriorate the quality of the brain and its chronological activities (McNally, 2011). Therefore, metal hygiene is the significant impact of either restoring the mental challenges or maintaining the mental health of a person from distortion. Nevertheless, individuals with mental illness were neglected and left in bad conditions of living. The little attention to the mental challenge people raised the alarm to the health care facilities. This also was a greater challenge to the psychologist in determining the increasing rate and the possible way to curb the issue. Later, psychiatrist proposed a model on abnormality and determined the relative concept of normality to the geographical, physical and cultural factors in accessing the problem.
The beginning of the 20th century Clifford Beer of America focused on the mental hygiene movement relating this issue to the social factors deficiency (Marini& Stebnicki, 2012). These factors are the productive working environment and a contented family welfare. It has promoted the study and the need to accommodate the mental challenge persons as a way to trigger positive influence to these individuals. Consequently, in the contemporary world, mental illness is associated with substance abuse such as marijuana among other hard drugs in the human body. The study has been essential in reducing the mental challenges and improving the productivity of the country and the social status of the people.
Nonetheless, the study has also identified the cause of mental problems and settle of proper ways to manage this challenge. Organization only recognizes the physical health and connects it with the employee productivity ignoring other contributing factors. The work environment of professionals that promote mental illness includes the absence of time structure of work, job pressure that separates an individual from the social lifestyle and the social identity of self-recognition of problems (Nydegger & Basile, 2011). The extensive research by this scholar among others has been vital in carrying out a planned scheduled in a workplace and predicting the outcomes to be positive to all stakeholders of an entity.
Moreover, several scholars have agreed with the research that more mental challenges will rise in the future. Thus the mental health and its productivity are at future risk due to the increasing number of persons with disorders. The United Kingdom Health Department indicates that approximately 30% of the mental disorder comes from the professional life of a person. This survey also supports another study conducted by the European Mental Health (EU) that the workplace of mentally challenged individuals is associated with professional work. It is a vivid indication that professional work causes psychological disorders and the emotional disruption contributes are among the contributing factors (Nydegger & Basile, 2011). The bigger consequences include the low productivity in enterprises in a country and the interruption of the social lifestyle of an individual. Besides this, the economy of a country will drop regarding skills personnel failing to turn up in particular workforce.
Conclusion and Recommendation
In conclusion, the dynamisms of the health sector and the psychological approaches, has revolutionary supported the mental study and the ways to improve mental hygiene of disorders (Nydegger, & Basile, 2011). The society of today has also been significant in the accepting the challenge and supporting the mentally ill person through seeking psychiatric medication and advice. As a recommendation to ensure the global problem is into consideration, there is a need to conduct psychological factors in all professional career and ways to cope with these factors. It is also important to acknowledge the societal social life of interaction to allow free communication as a way to minimize stress through social groups. The mental hygiene also goes a long way in offering advice to distress individual in their professions.
