I).Introduction
A. The ability to utilized self-esteem can assist individuals to overcome depression. It has been recorded that many people cannot tolerate failure, abusive relationships, negative comments, and stressful situations. People with low self-regard are at risk of intense depression that can result in suicide incidences. Therefore, people are always encouraged to motivate people with low self-esteem by ensuring that they embrace self-love and believing in being successful.
Marilyn Monroe said,” Trying to make yourself someone else is complete destruction of the person you are” (Goodreads Inc, 1).

Personal story
Consequently, many people have always called me manipulative and selfish at a different level of my life. This is because I will never accept defeat or take any abuse incident lightly. I enjoy all positive attributes such as being smart, clean, cute and rich. However, I do not take any negative attributes lightly, and I have always ended up fighting with people due to petty abuse that I could have assumed or cared less about. Psychologist calls my condition self-serving bias. It is a continuous behavior where an individual attributes good events to their personality but bad attribute event to other people or outside factors (Fennell & Melanie, 134). It is a self-esteem adjustment strategy for some people. Hence, it is caused by my ability to boost my self-esteem while avoiding negative results.

Self-esteem issues are the reasons why people appear weird or confused during speech presentations.

You may ask,” How can I embrace self-regard and overcome low self-esteem?”
B. Thesis topic is self-esteem improvement and is important because it is the key factor for a successive persuasive and informative speaking.
C. My sources are an article containing self-esteem quotes published by Goodreads Inc and two books that contain issues of self-esteem written by Fennell and Morrison. Their links are provided on the last page of the work cited part.
D. My three main points are cognitive biases, eye contact and the use of ethos, logos, and pathos during speech presentation.
II). Main Point 1
Cognitive biases are self-esteem adjustment strategy for some people. Self-serving bias and expectation bias are best in terms of boosting self-esteem. Self-serving bias is a continuous behaviour where an individual attribute good events to their personality but attribute the bad event to other people or outside factors (Fennell & Melanie, 130). On the other hand, expectation bias refers to a subsequent behaviour where an individual certify, believes and post data that are supporting their interests while discarding other data that criticise or downgrade them (Fennell & Melanie, 134).
Gautama Buddha quoted that “A person just like anybody else in this world deserves the feel of affection and love (Goodreads Inc, 1).”
Transition statement: Now that we have talked about cognitive biases let us talk about eye contact.
III). Main Point 2
Eye contact is an essential key to communication like public speaking. Not only does it significantly influence the audience concentration but also it gives the impression that you are organised and sure with what you are saying. Eye contact is challenging when faced with anxiety and fear (Morrison, Betsy, and Ruth, 67). Therefore, it is wise for an individual to work on confidence issues before practicing eye contact. To be skilled in eye contact, it better to plan the speech in advance this will ensure you have rehearsed the text. Hence, you will be able to look the audience rather than read direct from a paper. Secondly, always make sure you go through your thesis before presenting it this will ensure that you do not forget words or points that undermine you eye contact process. Thirdly, by having a deeper breath before any speech delivery always help in reducing tension. Lastly, organising of ideas in systematic order will provide a chance for eye contact since the ideas will flow easily.

IV). Transition Main Point 3
Ethos is described by saying that for the speech to be effective, the leader should be of a good moral character and trustworthy. Pathos, on the other hand, is a pillar that points toward the emotional engagement of the speaker. Logos says that for one to persuade, one needs logical proof, evidence, reasoning and arguments in support of one’s presentation (Morrison, Betsy, and Ruth, 67).

V). Conclusion
In conclusion, the thesis topic is self-esteem improvement and is important because it is the key to a successive persuasive and informative speaking.
The use cognitive biases, eye contact and the application of three pillars that are ethos, logos, and pathos during presentation speech help to boost the self-esteem of an individual.
