Social Welfare Policy and the Social Work Profession
Theories and practice models related to the social work profession often attempt to explain human’s behavior. I had the opportunity to explore these aspects practically while on placement in a child protection department. Here, most of my duties revolved around assessing caseloads and relating ideas taught at school to real-life practice. In order to make informed judgments, I had to make assessments based on evidence. Theories such as the social learning model, psychodynamic and psychosocial philosophies enabled me to understand why certain actions resulted in a specific behavior. Likewise, practice models provided me with the blueprint of the measures that I should undertake to help my clients. Both social work theories and practice models increased my understanding of the various issues that encourage the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of children.
Social work policy is a critical foundation field of study in the official programs of the social work profession. While precise social issues and procedures continue to evolve, I hope to gain sufficient knowledge regarding advocacy and formulation of humane policies that are impartial. By studying this course, I desired to become a competent practitioner who is not only knowledgeable but also skilled in assessment, advocacy, and the formulation of justice-based policies (Weiss‐Gal, 2016).

Wait! Social Welfare Policy and the Social Work Profession paper is just an example!

Importantly, this course will facilitate my development of critical thinking skills so that I can easily distinguish the direct interface between globalization and local policy concerns.
Policies influence the activities of social workers and often limit the capacity of the profession to uphold efficiency in service delivery. As part of their responsibilities, social workers are required to observe an acknowledged code of ethics by partaking in policy practice and incorporating it into their work (Weiss‐Gal, 2016). Policy influences the allocation of resources required to sustain social work programs. Since the profession of social work is gradually shifting toward the clinical level, the need for policy practice classes in this field will increase. Educational institutions will need to hire more policy expert staff to ensure a more balanced social work practice.
