Introduction
A sociopath is a personality disorder that is becoming increasingly common among individuals in the present world. The spread of the disorder is causing immense concerns among sociologists, authorities and psychologists who attribute it to extreme lifestyles or deficiency of certain fundamental aspects in life. The disability is deemed as one of the fatal complications that impede human development mentally and social growth (Bonn 1). Those suffering from the disorder have weird characters and behaviors that do not encourage good relations socially with others. For example, the victims of the disorder lack empathy, non-remorseful, they are associated with shallow emotions among others. Not many individuals would want to relate with such individuals given that people prefer extroversive individuals who are lively and truthful.
According to Moon (2), the disorder is one of the disorders one should ever have especially in the current environment where success is dependent on your relationship with people. At this moment having such a disorder is lethal and a hindrance to human development and social progress that is necessary for holistic advancement. He defines sociopath categorically as a person suffering from a disability disorder that manifests itself in antisocial attitudes and behaviors that are highly extreme. Such persons lack the requisite conscience (Bonn 1). It is also defined as a social disorder that is characterized by extreme antisocial behavior, diminished empathy and remorsefulness (Kotsko 1).

Based on the definition, it can be said that individuals who exhibit an extreme sense of behavior either by being highly extroversive or introversive suffer from the disorder in one way or another. However, the disorder is not permanent given that it is not an innate condition (Collett 13). It can be mitigated using defined processes and nurturing of the behavior of victims by exposing them to noble experiences that repair character.
This paper gives comprehensive information about the sociopath that is defined as a person with an extreme disability disorder that manifests itself n antisocial attitudes and behavior. The study covers key details on how to tell a sociopath, major signs indicating that one may be dating one and argument on whether it is curative or not.
Traits, character and behavior of a sociopath
As noted, Sociopaths are people or individuals with extreme behaviors, character, and attitude. They are volatile people who rarely feel sorry for their actions, however, bad. Their actions are not informed by the need to respect humanity or human dignity but to peruse their goals as they remain aggressive personalities (Bonn 1). The disorder is described as one of the most dangerous disability that human beings suffer in the modern day. They hold the view since humanity is defined by how success people can interact socially and relate. Negative behaviors and attitudes are those virtues that are associated to suicidal acts. They are anti-progress and make people fail to show respect to others thereby diminish individuals personal ego (Thomas 34).
The volatile working relationship with sociopaths is difficult due to various reasons. First, they are easily agitated with minor issues and tend to be very nervous. The personalities are not tolerant enough and humble to take in some comments from social partners or workmates. Any issue of whatever magnitude sets them on fire and make them agitated extremely thereby lead to a discouraging reaction. The individuals are also volatile in nature and highly predisposed to emotional outburst. Similarly, most sociopaths have no regards to the society regarding its rules and norms. They have a feeling that they can do things as they wish and please regardless of the provisions of the law in a setting. This has been evident in various circumstances where through extreme reactions, some have taken the law into their hands by killing others under claims of offensiveness.
As noted by Kotsko (3), any murder committed by the sociopaths is always haphazard, spontaneous or disorganized and not planned. It is equally clear the sociopaths do not make friends easily, and they do not keep them longer either. They have what is called convenient friendships that are temporary. The inability for them to form solid and strong attachments to others is highly worrying being the symbiotic nature of the world. It is mostly caused by the fear of experiencing the negative side of the individual. Such kind of fear is developed especially when one witnessed a horrible attack or unfair treatment of another during his younger years.
These behavioral and attitudinal aspects summarize the major character traits of sociopaths in diverse societies. The character traits summarized include but not limited to shallow emotions that they are known to be having, inability to love, empathy deficiency, lack of stimulation need and manipulative behavior including a conning culture.
The cause of sociopath and whether it is curative or not
Sociopath personality is different from psychopathy despite the correlated effects. The behavior of a sociopath is learned and not innate as in the case of psychopathy. It is a product of physical abuse, emotional including traumatic experiences individuals encounter from childhood (Grohol 1). That is sociopaths develop their behavior and attitude out of the environmental circumstances, what they see and affect them indirectly or directly. They form opinion and tactics of survival in any environment depending on the lifestyle they are exposed. When individuals grow in an environment that is characterized by physical abuse or in a family where parents are always abusing each other physically or emotionally, he or she will be influenced to know that assault is a norm.
However, people who grow in friendly environments know nothing but friendly behavior. They accommodate each other and resonate socially with their counterparts effectively. Rarely do they hurt them and react in an offensive manner as evident in the sociopaths’ case (Grohol 1). Therefore, it is recommended to the society and parents to embrace peace, unity, love and act responsibly as what the environment and parents give to life presents immense influence on individual’s future behavior especially children. The strategy is also imperative for eradicating the disorder among individual in the present society due to its effects.
The cause of sociopath depicts that it is curative if appropriate measures and steps are undertaken. Holistic cure can be executed and realized through the elimination of physical abuse practices and other traumatic events that can influence young ones negatively. In families, children should not be exposed to volatile experiences or any form of destructive behavior that they may copy and adopt in the future (Grohol 1). For instance, if families live in harmony without any form of conflict, children in the family will growth knowing peace and harmony. Such children will not be victims of the disorder easily. Social support and encouragement of individuals to boost their self-ego also form one of the mitigating strategies.
Acceptance of individuals within a group makes them develop a strong self-ego and confidence thereby enables them to embrace others. However, when one feels neglected or isolated with peers in the society they develop a negative attitude towards people hence see them as enemies. The feeling makes them develop relationship disorders thereby start doing things their way. Another important step is for the older generation to stop, telling lies, shun corruption and criminal activities. When this is done, the younger generation and other good mannered individuals in the society will hardly learn and embrace lying, crime, and engagement on corrupt dealings. Individuals will continue to lack empathy, become manipulative and shameless when they see the activities recur in the society. However, they will reform when such immoral activities are not condoned and supported by the people around.
Argumentation
Despite the negative behavior and attitude associated with the sociopaths, a divergent school of thought has it that it is beneficial to some extent in the current society and that it is curable (Edwards 1). There are strong arguments launched by individuals who perceive sociopath not as a disorder entirely but as an asset for a sustained living. In particular, they affirm that sociopath is a disorder that can easily be corrected through systematic processes, character reformation and rehabilitation. It is different from psychopathy that presents dire effects in the society. The personality trait of sociopath can be corrected since it is instilled by the prevailing circumstances and not innate as evident with psychopaths (Collett 10).
It is argued that sociopaths are disarming and charming personalities despite being unable to empathize. This aspect defines their positive aspect and how the easy the condition can be cured as compared to psychopaths who are exclusively unable to form emotional attachments (Robinson 1). They are highly manipulative with extreme conning ability as compared to sociopaths. The criminal undertakings and violent nature of the sociopaths are also not planned but spontaneous. At times, the violence aspect or behavior may not be evident for long as it is not their intentional always to hurt. They only react to situations. Hence it is important for anyone relating to them to associate responsibly or in a manner that is not offensive (Edwards 1). Their level of violence is contradictory to that of psychopaths who take part in planned criminal acts and violent activities. The differences depict that relating to sociopaths presents the extreme condition that can be identified and managed effectively. For instance, their criminal behavior is mainly influenced by what happens in the society and around them, hence, high capability of change given that the behavior is not innate.
Those with pro-arguments for sociopaths hold that they have some specific character traits and behaviors that are instrumental in facilitating performance in organizations including human productivity (Robinson 1). They cite their authoritative nature as an asset for good performance and productivity in various settings. The argument is drawn from the fact that many people work well when under close supervision and the strict rule of law. This is achieved when a leader exhibits authoritarian rule that autocratically ensure that everyone discharges his/her duties effectively. Lack of authority makes those working under leaders to get used with the system thereby ignore certain working terms or provisions. Sociopaths are ambitious and exhibit conventional appearance display in most cases (Collett 13). For instance, some of them dream of becoming world renowned leaders or to rule the world. The ambitious character in them enhances their reputation and relevance in the society. It makes them get celebrated and loved by a clique of people in the society who feel their social importance.
Indeed, the arguments present some positive characters and behaviors of sociopaths in diverse societies. They depict that sociopath disorder does not entirely remain destructive but can be used as a tool of promoting good governance including performance. The character also facilitates the progress of individuals given that sociopaths have a charming ability that enables them to get what they want. They know and have the ability to make people have a special feeling. People always tend to have fun around them courtesy of their likable and interesting nature.
Conclusion
It is inevitably clear that sociopath is a disorder that has a relevant cure despite its far-reaching effects. The cure is attainable when there is appropriate goodwill, and effective strategies are adopted. Its curative nature is eminent given that it is a circumstantial behavior that is fueled by the actions one is exposed to within the environment. The first notable cure is that young people should not be exposed to explicit behaviors and actions. The move is to enable them to emulate only good things that promote social coherence. Parents and the older generation should also stop the acts of physical abuse before young people. Doing this would inculcate a culture of love in the young people and they will grow knowing that people should embrace each other. Noble teachings on how people can be respectful, reasonable in their actions and non-manipulative also remain viable towards holistic eradication or mitigation of inherent social disorder. When young individuals are not exposed to criminal activities, violent behaviors, physical abuse among others, the acts will not form part of their lifestyle instead they will lead a morally upright lifestyle that is characterized by noble deeds. The highlighted initiatives hold the capacity of transforming the society systematically thereby providing a lasting solution to the sociopath disorder that is not an innate complication despite the notion that it cannot be controlled.
