A. Nursing Theory
Need Theory is one of the many nursing theories discovered by Virginia Henderson who was known as Nightingale of modern nursing. According to Musker (2011), the theory signifies increasing client’s individuality to endorse their continued curative development after hospitalization (Musker, 2011).

The theory fits my professional practice since it has been my duty to ensure that patient is given best attendance. Via the help of care plan, we can work in unison in helping our patients in reaching their health’s ideal level.
A manager
The manager always controls and make relevant decisions regarding the entire organization. When the nurse acts as the manager within the healing environment, he/she creates, organizes advocates and coordinates for the environment which promotes the well-being. Like the nurses, we are supposed to stay in the present with the trends of modern health-care, be perpetual learners and utilize as well what we have learned while delivering the care. It is through standard precautions maintenance that aids in keeping our patients healthy and safe. The healing environment comprises of both our workspace as well as the rooms of our patients. If the nurse desires to be the healing environment’s manager, one should coordinate as well with the co-workers.

Every individual should, in this case, receive quality services and be treated fairly by the medical attendant without favoring or disfavoring patients without referring to physical appearance and relationship ties.

Errors that occur in nursing practice include; error in medication, infection issues, charting or documentation errors and falling accidents involving patients. I will describe the error in medication. It is a preventable occurring that can cause harm to the patient. The error can happen by giving an overdose, wrong medication or even giving medication via the wrong method. Medication errors can have devastating effects on the patient and can cause death.

There are different provisions for the nurses to follow during the administration of the drug. The caregivers have to know the different provisions to protect the patients from such errors. From the above error, the code of ethics applies to ANA code ethic in conducting nursing practices (Kaplan, 2015).
H. Leadership Qualities or Traits
There are several leadership traits of nurses that depict excellence in the nursing profession, and they include global mindset, Excellent decision-making traits, technology awareness and politically astute
Global mindset: The nursing profession requires one to work in the community, and therefore the nurse should love diversity as well as comprehend the differences in culture of the people surrounding them. The nurse leaders who possess the global perspective trait will have the ability to global trends in healthcare as well as adapting them to their work on a local, regional or even national level.
Significance as Bedside Leader
The bedside leader normally works with various categories of people comprising of the patients, nurses and the other workers. It is through having the trait of global perspective that will make this leader treat every individual fairly and use diversified communication skills by who is being addressed to basing on one’s specifications, profession and needs. Accommodating various people enables them to feel valued, and this minimizes the conflicts which can arise within the bedside sector.
Significance of a nursing team or interdisciplinary team
Every team comprises of different members who come from various places and thus have various characteristics, values, and views. It is through the global perspective’s trait that enables the members of the nursing team to understand each and be aware of the differences which exist between various individuals. Being aware of the differences makes the individuals appreciate these dissimilarities and thus accommodating every person. Understanding and accommodating every member of the team minimizes the conflicts which might arise and thus reducing the time required to make the certain decision.
Excellent decision-making traits: Decision-making skills is an essential quality for a leader. Some decisions can be made easily using empirical science but making decisions in a complicated healthcare environment can be difficult to give a judgment and even worse, looks likely to be very difficult in future. Expert networks consisting of scientists, managers, researchers and top thinkers can prove to be a good decision-making strategy.
Its Significance as the leader at bedside
As the expert nurse, one requires developing patient care’s understanding and skills so that he can make the decisions promptly. The nurse acts as the advocate for the patient and thus required to be active in the process of decision making concerning how to incorporate the best strategies for improving the care’s delivery. With the aim of offering quality services, the effective advocate normally influences the decision makers through the act of building the case for preferable and desired change via backing of the case with data and facts which can win together with giving the life of the patient priority. In this case, the instant decision-making trait will be the only element which will enhance quality and faster delivery of the services to the patients.

Significance of Technology awareness as the leader at Bedside
Technology continues to evolve in all sectors of the healthcare industry. The drastic changes which are brought about by this technology demand all leaders to be proficient in technology and be aware of any change which has occurred in the technology environment. The leader at the bedside requires being well-conversant with the current technology to deliver the desired services to the patients. This particular awareness enables this leader to manage certain devices which are used within this area such as bedside terminals. Finally, being aware of embryonic technology will be crucial in choosing the best technology to be used at the particular time and for a specific purpose with the aim of speeding and improving delivery of services.
Significance of Technology Awareness within a nursing team or interdisciplinary team
Every individual desire to be up-to-date with the current changes which are brought by advanced technology. Within the nursing team, it seems much awkward when one is left behind while the other team members are aware of what has been brought about by the new technology. Every member of the team is required therefore to be aware of technology to contribute to the certain decision-making process. It is mainly because an individual will always shy to share one’s view when he does not understand what is being discussed by the entire team. Being not aware of technology will always make the nursing team take a long duration to arrive at a certain conclusion when the individual who is aware of technology tries to explain the concept to the entire team.
Politically astute. Politics affects different sectors of health sector being no different. The right decisions are critical for the nurse leaders to succeed in their endeavors. Therefore, while at work, they should have the ability to pinpoint the features of communication, relationships and also informal power structures.

While working as the bedside leader, the quality of political astute is much crucial in influencing the followers. It is implicated mainly in the dimension of influencing affairs and the decisions which are interrelated to the health via the political knowledge through effective communication. It is this quality that will make this particular nurse to have the ability to influence the current health policy with the aim of protecting the care’s quality through the access of required opportunities and recourses. The influence and effective communication will always be crucial while requesting for devices and materials which are required at the bedside. In conclusion, the bedside leader is much helped by this quality as it enables one to acquire skills of policymaking to help in addressing the professional challenges. In this, this particular quality enables such a leader to go ahead and say that the nurses are supposed to be involved in the policies that affect families, patients, themselves and the entire system of healthcare.

Every member of a team is required to contribute and share one’s view. It is through this particular quality that will enable the nurse found within the nursing team to influence health policies formulation rather than sitting back and just implementing what has been formulated. This quality will enhance every member of the team to be active during health policies’ development in being better and able in controlling their practice. Sharing different views as well as challenging the ones who seem to be unpleasant makes the entire team formulate the best policies that increase the care’s quality, protects the safety of the patient and that which facilitates their access to the essential resources as well as promoting the healthcare of high quality.

The organization I work for provides the tools I need for my job thus I have fewer challenges when working. I am the nurse leader in the institution, and therefore I direct the daily activities of the institution.
The work environment where I am, allows me to make decisions regarding the running of the organization. The managers, other nurses, and patients provide me with the support I need for this role.
The organization helps me to develop my professional career by encouraging me to undertake further studies. The organization also organizes regular workshops to ensure nurses learn new skills.
