College educates students and helps them to develop skills that will enable them to be productive in the society. Besides studies, institutions of higher learning enhance acquisition of wisdom regarding how to relate to people and how to stay focused on the achievement of the primary goals (Cebrián and Junyent 2771). When I was in college, I was an excellent performer in nearly all subjects and had a reasonably good social life. However, my relationship with my classmates and friends was not smooth, as I had strong values and policies that guided my decision making and general conduct.
One ethical dilemma that troubled me was whether it was morally right for me to keep quiet and watch as my friends engaged in illegal activities such as drug abuse. Having always wanted to be an advocate for justice, I still felt compelled to stand out and condemn any evil committed in my presence. At the same time, it did not feel right to submit my friends or classmates to the law enforcement officers for crimes committed. The desire to speak up resonated with my law course and played a significant role in my personal development as well as the development of my career.
This ethical dilemma enabled me to develop proper interpersonal qualities which saw me get elected as acting student’s voice to ensure fairness in the University student conduct system. Additionally, I also served in the university judicial tribunal as a member and also in the student government Association.

These roles nurtured my skills further whereby I, later on, served state legislative assistant and judicial, administrative assistant. Ideally, the ethical dilemma faced in college played a critical role in the development of my career.
