Introduction

Today it can be observed that various campaigns and social groups have been developed, which promote love and good treatment towards these defenseless beings with the motto No Animal Abuse! Although some people within these groups ignore certain not so obvious forms of abuse that are somewhat camouflaged among delicious aromas.

Among these ways in which they use these living beings, this “testing in animals” which is part of the most commonly used abuse methods and also that society less takes into account, some for lack of information or ignoring total of the subject,Another just because they mistakenly think that there is no other option to check the effectiveness of cosmetics and that if they stop doing experiments in these creatures we would not have the possibility of using products safely. Something that is totally away from reality because there are other ways to verify the safety of any substance without torturing others.

The objective by which I prepare this essay is to make society known about the error we make when acquiring any product either cosmetic or not and not considering how it was elaborated, that substances were used or how they verified the safety of said product, this usually happens because most of us buy a cosmetic just because it is fashionable or of a very expensive brand and that is why we believe that there is no problem, but this is not so, because most of the most cosmetic brandsRecognized, in search of verifying such security in their creations they use these helpless creatures by subjecting them to hard evidence that affects their health and usually causes death.

Developing

At present there are a lot of people who mistakenly think that testing on animals is to try a cream in their skin in case it generates some allergy, but that thought is very far from reality, since the tests only in cosmetics usually varyMuch, from very simple procedures to more complex and torments for the animal, then I present some of the most common: to check toxic substances in the nose, mouth and eyes which could be injured. In other cases, these tests are also performed on the skin, resulting in ulcers, bleeding, among other damages, some more complex procedures are also carried out to obtain specific results such as kinetic toxic where absorption, metabolization, distribution and excretion is studiedof chemical substances, embryonic or fetal genetic damage, skin or eyes irritation by shampoos, gels, perfumes etc. These experiments contain a high level of toxicity, so it is practically poisoning animals with dangerous substances (preservatives, stabilizers, dyes …) which can risk our health, the objective of these processes is to verify how harmful these products are these productsFor the consumer, another process that is practiced is the mutation that causes genetic damage, in addition to this, we also have carcinogenicity in which substances that can cause chronic diseases such as cancer.

The different companies that perform these tests do not seize the animals they will use to carry out these experiments, which are practiced after another to the creature until it dies, since part of the result that is sought to take with these experiments is to know what amount would haveto use so that it does not result in the death or very serious anatomical damage, because these tests are not only used to test cosmetics, but also for food, chemical, pharmaceuticals, antifreeze, paintings, home cleaning creams and everythingthat substance that could be harmful or toxic to humans and at the same time for every living being.

At this point they must be asking what would be of us, of science, of humanity, if we had not experienced with animals. And it is true, when no other methods were known, the previous experimentation in animals was essential: rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, etc. But today there are numerous methods such as cell cultures, tissues and organs, epidemiological studies, studies with human volunteers, among many others, which can avoid animal suffering. Thoroughly researching, collecting certain data on the Internet referring to each year, millions of animals are subjected to innumerable tests and experiments to determine the safety of this type of products and in many occasions these experiments are hidden under slogans as “clinically tested” or"Tested under dermatological control". The number of animals that annually die in experiments carried out for the chemical, pharmaceutical, military, cosmetic or food industry is worrying: it exceeds 200 million and could reach 500 million, according to the first report of the European Commission on statistics regarding thenumber of animals used for experimental purposes or other scientific purposes. From 2009, experimentation in animals of any cosmetic product or ingredient of this within the European Union was prohibited, as well as the sale in European soil of any cosmetic product that contained tested ingredients in animals. But there are extensions until 2023 and exceptions, as in those products manufactured before the entry into force of the law, cosmetics that contain ingredients that, in turn, also are part of other products belonging to other areas, also if there were noAn acceptable alternative method or in the products destined for export to markets where the animal testing is mandatory as the Chinese market (Vera, 2017). It can be identified by means of the container, boat, cover, among others, in which the substance we want to acquire is, since, in it, either at the bottom, behind or on one side, there must beA logo, seal, symbol or phrase, which represents “not tested in animals’, stamps and logos in some of these articles are usually images of animals such as rabbits or pandas. But not only those who indicate ‘cruelty free’ or ‘not tested in animals’ are free from these practices, because vegan products are totally free in all their manufacturing process, until you reach the customer.

On the other hand, the products that do not have these representative symbols, have probably used experimentation in animals as part of their elaboration process or, at least, in some of their materials, so, if you see an item for sale without theirrespective representative symbol as one of those mentioned above, you can suspect in terms of linking these types of experiments. Despite this, we must also keep in mind that it is not completely reliable that all companies that do not test in animals have this identification, since, in some of the different countries, governments grant these identifications to companies that comply with the standards, but that, in addition to that, they grant extra rates to obtain them and some of these companies better choose not to pay them and, therefore, not get them.

In the reality in which we live experimentation with animals, it is a topic that goes unnoticed in people’s lives, despite the damage it causes, people seem not to matter or not have enough information on this issue that covers not only the not onlyAnimal lovers, but to a whole society without ethics and moral, who manufacture or consume these products knowing the damage that causes these helpless beings.

Finally, after an arduous research I concluded that most of the products we most use in our daily lives are not free of cruelty, so here the question that each one should ask to become aware would and what we are doing to change this? Unfortunately, I know that in most cases the answer would be that we are not doing anything to change it, otherwise we are helping to continue, consuming these products directly or indirectly supporting these brands to continue using defenseless beings for inhuman tests.
