Nursing care has a significant impact on patient outcome. This care affects the patient directly across diverse clinical situations. Studies have therefore shown the positive connection between nursing education and the outcomes of the patient. (Aiken et al., 288). Since the healthcare system is still evolving, the quality of the nursing care will be a necessity. The quality of nursing care may entail the use of advanced procedure, interdisciplinary teamwork and also extremely experienced nursing personnel to offer adequate attention to the patients. (Aiken et al., 288). This paper aims to discuss the role of nursing care to the patient outcome.
Nursing influence on patient outcomes
Studies have shown that nurses contribute significantly to the quality of the services offered to patients (Aiken et al., 290). Nurses who have attained a Bachelors of Science and Nursing (BSN) are always in a better position to get promotions to occupy leadership and managerial positions (Aiken et al., 288) This contributes to a safer working environment. There are lower turnover rates since these nurses are satisfied with their career. This satisfaction translates to improved quality of the health care services (Aiken et al., 288).
Roles of nurses in healthcare
Health care facilities with lucrative description require nurses to have a bachelor’s degree in leadership roles. Majority of health care facilities only permit the qualified nurse with a Bachelors of Science in nursing to take up positions of being an assistance of nurse manager, as a specialist in the clinical development, making some informal issues dealing with healthcare and lastly maintaining the quality of services rendered (Aiken et al.

, 289).
How nurses adapt to the changes
There are transformative changes that are occurring in the health care system. This change occurs concerning the roles of the nurses (Aiken et al., 288). Nurses undergo training which promotes their skills, knowledge, and quality improvement (Aiken et al., 290).
Burnout
Nursing burnout has a significant effect on the quality of service that nurses offer to their patients. This burnout occurs due to the stress in their work environments, long shifts and putting others first. To maintain their nursing zeal nurses utilizes the preventive strategies and measure that enable them to protect and preserve their passion (Aiken et al., 288).
Lateral violence
Lateral violence is the abuse that occurs between workers. This involves strong verbal abuse in the workplace. The study has shown that 53% of the nurses have experienced lateral violence at one point in their career (Aiken et al., 288). This bullying affects the quality of patient care .it also affects the satisfaction at the workplace and increases the chances of staff turnover. (Aiken et al., 289).
Continuing education
Continuing education opportunities are taken advantage of by nurses who are engaged in their professional development. The main intention of continuing education is to increase knowledge and skills in the nursing workforce. Continuing education comes in numerous forms. Some nurses go back to school with the intention of advancing their degree and those with master’s degree in nursing capitalizes on education, information, administration among other specifications. This education increases the nurse’s marketability by helping them secure higher paid positions and salary increase. This education aims at advancing the health care quality (Aiken et al., 290).
Conclusion
Nursing health care is very crucial in patient outcome. Patients tend to be more attached to their nurses. Nurses go through challenges like burnout and lateral violence which affects the quality of the services rendered. Continuing education programs enable nurses to better their health skills and knowledge to improve healthcare.
