The innovative methodology of the Japanese company Toyota

The Toyota Motors company is one of the 100 companies that, according to its methodology, is among the most innovative. For more than 75 years of experience, Toyota Motors carries in the automotive industry presenting different car models for people and families, delivering a quality and innovative product. Since its inception in Japan in 1937 by the founder Kiichiro Toyoda, the company has dedicated itself to giving the best product and service always innovating and challenging its standards. The phrase "Ever-Better Cars" honors its purpose of beyond manufacturing vehicles to take you to places, they should help you reach places in life, synonymous with their motto “Let’s Go Places” (Let’s go to places). The production of the AA model car was the first passenger car for Toyota that was launched in 1936. With this begins the trajectory of Toyota Motors which enters the car industry in the 1950s and is established as Toyota Motor Sales Co., LTD. Later, other branches were established in the United States and Brazil, the public car, Corona and Corolla models among others were launched among others. Through time, Toyota Motor Sales continued to expand its productions and mass plants until it became one of the global leaders in the manufacture of cars that we know today.

The company’s innovative vision is based on offering the best products for the needs of its customers, emphasizing innovation at all times.

Wait! The Innovative Methodology Of The Japanese Company Toyota paper is just an example!

Toyota Motors is one of the leading companies in innovation globally. According to Greenspan (2017), this popularity reflects the statement of the company’s mission and vision, which emphasizes a comprehensive approach that considers the innovation and needs of customers. The organization’s vision statement emphasizes leadership, commitment to constant innovation, public responsibility and interest in teamwork with passion and talent to develop better ways. For Toyota Motor Sales, EE. UU. Inc. (2019):

How do we create some of the most advanced, reliable and safe vehicles? Start with our manufacturing principles and management philosophy. We are always looking for ways to improve our operations, we always challenge ourselves to innovate, we always seek to collaborate, always improving every day in everything we do.

Starting with the original PRIus, Toyota was a pioneer in the ‘complete’ hybrid system that uses two separate electric power plants: an electric motor that works with battery and a combustion engine driven by gasoline, which can work together to drive the vehicle or eachcan be used in isolation (Toyota.com, 2015). Toyota has been promoting innovation for years, implementing Hybrid Synergy Drives and the PRI technology, which established the standard for hybrid cars and has continued innovating since then. The HSD combines an electric transmission and a planetary gear that works similarly to a continuously variable transmission. Technology has transformed the way we live and makes the world more connected. The need to compete in the car market and an articulated mission are promoting Toyota’s innovation. Another product that the company is launching is what they call Kinto. According to Mainwaring (2018), Kinto is ‘the new car subscription service for people’. In a planned pilot project for Tokyo in 2019, Toyota will launch a monthly flat rate subscription that will allow people to use a variety of vehicles for an unlimited time.

The aforementioned innovations of Toyota Motors could be identified in radical and transformational. On the radical part is the presentation of Hybrid Synergy Drives and the PRI technology, since this innovation presents a new idea outside how conventional gasoline cars are only. This change taught a new mold for the creation of future cars and bring new options to the consumer, in addition to proposing a friendly echo system. However, also transformational because, like hybrid technology, Kinto presents a new way of living and operating for the use of cars with consumers.

In conclusion, according to my perspective I understand that if innovation is in the future of business, because we are in high -tech times which results in high demands. Businesses should always consider being at the forefront and prepared to present new projects already occur radical, incremental or transformational form. The reality is that the industry will continue in motion for globalization and one way or another is important to adapt with changes. Cultural, generational, economic and structural elements are necessary for innovation, since each one contributes with their demands to develop new services and products that are to their liking. It is essential for organizations to have personnel or departments dedicated to research and development, because in this way they will remain competitive in innovation.
