INTRODUCTION

Water is the fundamental liquid for life, since it is part of it, and the management of it must be ethical, responsible and there must be eco-efficient planning for future generations.

The human body is composed of approximately 70% of water, which is why this resource is fundamental in people’s lives, without that, the function of the body is not completed as it is due tending to lead to diseases, in many cases even evendeath. 

From ancient times, human beings know about the importance of vital fluid in their lives, however these are not aware when using it, thanks to this in many parts of the world there is the shortage of this liquid, an example is in EuropeWith countries such as Bulgaria, Cyprus, Spain among others, Africa with countries such as Somalia and Kenia, Asia with countries such as India and North America with countries like Mexico, especially in the city of Chiapas where the percentage of shortage has increased.

The water apart from being used for domestic life is also widely used by large companies, which require this liquid for the development of their products, especially those based on drinks.

Taking into account the large proportion of water used in production by industries, the present study proposes to analyze the level of corporate social responsibility presented by the companies producing refreshing drinks, such as Coca Cola, Pepsi and Nestlé, from different pointsof production.

Based on this, the formulation of a research question has been proposed:

How do international companies comply with CSR and sustainability, given the use of vital fluid?

For which the quantitative, qualitative methodology and the use of data will be used, analyzing through cases of study, based on sustainability theories (triple final result – Triple Bottom Line) and theories regarding ethical and responsibility objectivesSocial.

 What is CSR?

Corporate social responsibility is a concept that implies the need and obligation of companies and institutions that develop some type of economic activity, to maintain respectful behavior of legality, ethics, morals and the environment. 

The CSR seeks that companies carry out procedures that allow them.

What are organizational objectives?

Organizational objectives help direct, control, motivate and review the success of a company’s activities. To achieve this, organizational objectives provide two variables that benefit companies, which are mission and vision. The mission is about declaring that the goal that the company has been proposed has been achieved and the vision is the declaration of the objective to be achieved by a company.

RSE and organizational objectives of refreshing drinks producing companies

Refreshing drinks producing companies that have been selected for this analysis are: the Coca-Cola company, the Pepsi company and the Nestlé company. These are three large companies worldwide, their products are well recognized and sold in large percentages around the world.

The Coca-Cola company is the world’s largest beverage company, it has more than 500 brands which are sold to more than 200 countries, its mission is to refresh the world, inspire moments of optimism and happiness, create value and mark thedifference, and as a vision to achieve maximum sustainability, quality and growth. 

Kenya, an African country, is located next to the second largest lake in the world, Lake Victoria and next to the Nile River. His community is making multiple complaints to Coca-Cola, since the price of water in this community is much more expensive than that of a drink of this company and not only that, but the little portion of water is contaminated, in a debateof the AMECE (World Assembly of the elected representatives and the citizens for the water) the inhabitants of Kenya were recommended that they did not consume water from the network because they could get sick, in exchange for them it was recommended to drink water bottled by private companies such as Coca-Tail. 

In India, Coca-Cola also highlights its presence, many bottling plants of this company have the firm opposition of local communities, since Coca-Cola uses the same groundwater that communities use to drink, cook, wash, wash,Water and feed the cattle, says Amit Srivastava, coordinator of the Indian Resources Center. This company, understanding that, India with its more than 1200 million inhabitants, is an expanding merchand. 

In 2016, FEMSA said that the consumption of water from them had decreased by 8 percent that is equivalent to saving more than 3000 million liters and also the discharges are sent to the water treatment plant

In the Subcontinent Indian Globalization has caused a humanitarian crisis, millions of inhabitants of this continent have been fighting the presence of bottling companies of several multinationals, one of them is Pepsic, since the shortage of water is very wide and many farmers do notThey have economic income because their crops lack this liquid, while companies devour the low proportion of water that is still preserved in this country. According to data from the Indian Meteorology Institute, in 2016 Tamil Nadu, a southern state of this country, registered its lower rainfall levels in the last 140 years. From October to December of that same year 144 dead farmers were recorded (106 of those deaths were suicides) due to the lack of crops. 

Environmental factors, environmental management system and political factors of Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Nestlé companies:

  • According to the Edebé group, environmental factors can be reflected in three dimensions:
  • · It is important to consider the ethical aspect, which compromises the company in the development of good environmental practices.
  • · It should be taken into account that there is a very varied legal regulation that affects much of business activities, from production to commercialization.
  • · It is necessary to assess the degree of awareness of the population.

Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Nestlé companies are making positive changes with respect to the environment, as Coca-Cola has previously mentioned in their distributing companies the wastewater treatments plants (PTAR) which allows the use of water to have waterDecreased 8 percent, Pepsi and Nestlé have supported companies that are responsible for water care.

What is economic sustainability?

Economic sustainability is a model where development is achieved that integrates the economic, social and environmental objectives of society, in order to maximize human well -being in the present. 

Conclusions

In conclusion to this monograph, each case described has allowed us to answer the research question initially raised, verifying that the companies chosen to carry out this monographic work do not comply with the corporate social responsibility and much less with sustainabilityGiven the use of vital fluid.

Coca-Cola is undoubtedly the largest refreshing drinking company in the world, its annual income is very high and thanks to this it must produce large amounts of drinks, and has even increased in its brands what is bottled water, causingthat many communities have a bad image of this multinational since in countries such as Mexico, India and Kenia there is a shortage of water and this company abuses it. He is currently trying to rectify the damage that has caused many communities, implementing in its bottling machines and distribution centers which are wastewater treatment plants (PTAR) that is a method that serves as great help since water is reusedwhich was normally residue.

Pepsi is the second large company producing refreshing drinks, just like Coca-Cola uses too much water to produce its drinks, it has also reflected on the abuse that is giving to the vital liquid and is trying to replace the water it has consumed,IDB (the Inter -American Development Bank) in 2017 said that Pepsicthe water.

Nestlé is the largest bottled water producing company, its product is sold to many countries in the world, as well as Coca-Cola and PepsicReflected on the abuse he has given to the water and tries to correct it, with sustainable policy which has helped reduce the use of water in this multinational by 27 percent.

These three multinational companies are trying to improve their image, complying with the corporate social responsibility that benefits the company, the environment and society.
