Individuals who are appreciative tend to be healthier, more fulfilled, and happier. Being grateful could aid persons to handle stress and improve heart rate. The action is simple to undertake and its advantages have been proven scientifically. From early scriptures to the modern science, appreciation is recognized as good for those around us and ourselves. Nonetheless, it is not always our spontaneous retort and we regularly take the decent things in our own survives for granted (Mole, 2013). Good things in our lives influence us socially and psychologically. Therefore, I would like to discuss three good things in my life that I consider as blessings from God.
The three things in my life that I will discuss in this paper include my job, my family, and my health. When I completed my professional education, I prayed that God would bless me with a position where I could get the opportunity to serve him. He gave me a chance to be a case coordinator in a substance abuse facility and each day I dedicate myself to help other people. As I vowed, I feel I have really served my purpose and thus not taking this blessing for granted. While undertaking my normal duties, one day a client gave me a thank you card. A volunteer stated that she had been coming and observing the persons around the office for some time and felt that if individuals call the agency the cake, then she would definitely consider me as the frosting and hope I never leave because it would surely be a great loss.

This instance surprised me since I did not think that she was paying attention to what happens around the office. Such a good thing happened because of my commitment to serve our clients with courtesy, dedication, and respect. Therefore, my excellent services to the clients made me get noticed. It was a really good experience that meant me realize I was performing my duties diligently as I promised God.
My family is another good thing in my life. Since I was a young girl, I wanted to get married and get children. I was blessed with a husband of twenty-one years. Due to my complications with getting pregnant, I gave birth to my son later in life. This came not only as a blessing to my family but a miracle to me. When I sit and watch my family around me, I strongly thank God because I am always happy for the bad and good days. I cherish every day and night God gives me with the family I so desired. I consider finding a husband, conceiving and giving birth to my son as a good thing that happened because I never want to take or forget what God has done for me. So each day is like the first day of my marriage and the birth of my son. I trust and have faith in God and that is why I patiently waited for him to bless me with a child despite the complications.
Health is a state of complete physical and emotional well-being. Healthcare helps people keep this best health state (Nordqvist, 2017). Over the years I have been facing health complications and consequently lost my very close friends. However, I thank God when I wake up every day and find that I can walk, open my eyes, talk, and breathe. Though I am not in a health condition that many may describe as perfect, I really thank God because I don’t depend on others to take care of me on matters like bath, feeding among other personal duties hence being independent. Such a good thing in my life exists because of God promise over our life and my faith in his word. Therefore, I am grateful to God for the three goods thing he has done in my life and vow to continue believing in him.
