Violence in sport and sports environment

In this research project, violence in sports will be investigated, because it is one of the most important, common things that arise within sport and outside, as they also appear in school institutions when doing a sport of high competitiveness.

I choose this issue because it is important and necessary, to be able to know what are the types of violent behaviors in their different context of action in adolescents, and then adapt measures that can prevent them and thus in this way the clubs, institutions, teachers and coaches may be trained and use strategies when there is an act of violence

This research appears the need to study and investigate violence in sports called “rugby”, in order to identify the amounts of cases that occurred in different environments such as clubs, school institutions and outside them such as the purposes of week where no one can have control of your body, thoughts and acts of violence.

We can characterize violence in sport as

  • The lack of behavior and values that are between the players, coaches, referee and public.
  • Voluntary realization of physical and psychological damage.
  • The clashes that appear always depending on the type of competition that will be carried out.
  • That there is a violent audience, which also performs violent actions towards the players of the opposite or public team.
  • The anger and discussions between colleagues or players of the opposite team.

Wait! Violence In Sport And Sports Environment paper is just an example!

  • Revenge after a defeat.

This information will seek to facilitate all educational, sports communities, how it is also involved within their family and the environment that surrounds the person, can have a better knowledge about the scope of this problem and its ways of being able to prevent it, inside of an educational, sports and family environment.

In addition, this research will expand information on racism, bullying and harassment, in order to analyze greater knowledge about the cases that have also been presented, as well as their characteristics and the needs of being able to intervene.

Problem

Trainers, teachers and family are not trained to solve or prevent an action of violence, since, this is presented in several ways in educational institutions, clubs and in the daily life of each of them.

Definition

Research about violence in sport, will let us understand from different theories, therefore, in order to understand each of them it will be essential to define some concepts in the subject of study among which is, "Violence ‘," Violence in school sports ”, violence in sports and sports environment ‘,“ violence in rugby’ and among them harassment, racism and bullying will be present.

Violence

Violence are behaviors that generally cause physical damage, but also in psychological damage, this violence usually participates or more person, where acts or attitudes occur that have to do with verbal or physical force on another person, in order wanting to hurt or harm this.

It is a very common behavior in society that we live, since, they not only occur in situations of problems or conflicts, but also in very simple situations through everyday life and it can affect anyone without exception of sex, age or race.

WHO (2002) defines violence as:

“Violence is the voluntary use of physical force, threats against oneself, another person, a group or a community that has as a consequence or it is very likely that it has as a consequence a trauma, psychological damage, development problems or death. We can also say that most of violence is usually school or extracurricular, since, actions that come from the environment of each person appear, that the vast majority of adolescents usually imitate.

Violence also gives reference to the crime that is constantly in the country, this can be caused by a multitude of people, blacksmith, c.: Criminology, talks about “crowd refers to a large number of people or things, its behavior being the true object of interest. In this sense, Jiménez Murillo Social Psychology, UNED, Madrid (1985) "Centers on the idea of basic unity of collective behavior, as long as it demands the existence of community or congregation within identical spatial limits".

Violence in school and school sports

Violence in schools not only occur or occurred in previous decades, but also today is more naturalized than young people or adolescents have a violent attitude towards colleagues or teachers, this means that usual and daily in schools in schools appear in cases of bullying, harassment, racism, inequality, etc.. Where this leads to a violent situation. We can also say that in the class exclusively of physical education, where competitions between classmates or students of another school are involved, that is where there is more tension when wanting to win and not being able to control anger when losing.

These facts about school violence, "from Antón (2012)" can define it as:

“A behavior that manifests itself or not through any action that violates purposes, values and objectives of the school community, and also, the aggression to the climate of respect, all those practices that endanger or risk of any attempt in the community school to be free of aggressions, threats and coercion against people who study, teach, work and collaborate in school enclosures, and any individual or group behavior that causes damage to properties and cause disturbances and disorders in the academic life of educational centers ".

Within the behaviors of each teenager, these violent acts also appear a lot when bullying exists, which causes and leads them to perform a voluntary action of physical and psychological damage towards the other person.

Harassment also appears, where there is the difference of ages, so it leads to an abuse of power towards a person who cannot defend themselves.

Violence in school sports, ”Maria Sanchez (2018)” refers to the main consequences of violence:

  • When children begin in some sport in an environment in which aggressiveness predominates, there are more likely to maintain those violent sports attitudes in adulthood.
  • Excess competitiveness, promotion of unreal expectations, depreciation of the rival and other attitudes can generate in the child lack of self – esteem, anxiety, socialization problems ..
  • An inappropriate environment can contribute to the child for a negative image of sport and consider abandoning the practice of physical activity.
  • Sport can become a means to transmit negative values such as xenophobia or machismo.

Alfredo Sáenz: ‘How would you encourage sportsmanship in school sports?’He speaks in his opinion about how to prevent non -sports behaviors in the school stage:

"To prevent non -sports behaviors in the school stage, it is necessary for people surrounding girls and boys and facilitating their socialization in sports, adopting practical actions and strategies that foster sportsmanship".

It is very important when doing any sport, either inside or outside an educational institution, having trained professionals for these situations, where they can teach values, respect, education and inclusion, because not only they are going to learn sport, but also how to go out to life and how to live in it.

Violence in sport and sports environment

As we speak before violence can be given in any situation, but now I will focus more on what would become violence in sport and its surroundings.

The social effects of sport: leisure, integration, socialization, violence and education, ”Eric Dunning (1988)’ Talk about sport violence

The word "violence" almost always designates unacceptable physical contacts, the violation of the rules that reaches the aggression outside the pitch. But, sports competitions with Tongo, pressures on referees, corruption, doping, which damages the health of the athlete, are also forms of violence.

The author points out that it is possible that the increase in violence is due to a "self-destructive trend within sport worldwide, mainly as a result of the requests for searching for sensations by spectators".

On the other hand, as we all know, in the sport of greatest competitiveness, where “brave bars” participate, in a very special day like having to win yes or yes a drink or a promotion, it is where the greatest accidents occur, either of one team against the other, of one fan against the other, and that is why the operation of the bars are also very inconvenient in these situations, therefore it is important that there a very good security in these cases. We give as an example to “football’, since, it is one of the most popular sports in the world.

Ghersi, e. Bravas Bars: Economic Theory and Soccer. (1990). It makes reference to the Baravas Soccer bars:

"A series of assessments persuade us that it is so. First, no one has heard of brave bars in other sports other than football. Nothing in this discussion aims to suggest that football is condemned to promote violence, much less. What we want to suggest is that a certain stadium of institutional evolution, the rules and the organization of football, given the indefinition of property rights that is characteristic of it, causes violence such as that of the brave bars. It is also likely that the institutional evolution itself provides the mechanisms of correction of this phenomenon ’.

We understand that soccer is only the sport that has the most violent causes, but violence can occur in any other sport, which requires physical contact, either using an excess of strength that can get to hurt, injure or even kill a player or person. That is why it is very important.

Violence occurs in any situation in everyday life not only, within a sport, but you always have to take into account that children/adolescents are going to the streets with the values that the same educators or family teach each one from them.

We give as an example the case of Fernando Báez, that a weekend at the exit of a bowling alley, one of the worst nightmares occurred for his parents, family, friends, acquaintances and even for people who did not know him. It was 10 Rugby players who made the decision to end Fernando’s life for "a simple fight inside the bowling alley"; These players not only hit Fernando, but also wanted to see him dead and for this they used that force with kicks as if he were a rugby ball and as if they were playing as a team. Not only did they take what they learned in sport, but also what they learned in their education.

Violence in rugby

We understand that not only in sports violence occurs but these violent facts that people usually have from the society that each one lived, from the family and especially from education, in which, each is being developed One as a person.

"Rugby, the most fatal sport worldwide in the last year" by Dilan Lopez talks about sport world risks and this refers to the deaths that occur when putting into practice this sport.

"From now on, we know. And no one can pretend that there is still any doubt. The rugby kills. And kill because with professionalization a hard game has become a violent game. The rugby kills because he believed that the preparation protected everything, that the bodies of the players could resist any plate, often made by two defenders simultaneously. Rugby kills because we didn’t want to see what could kill. The controversy has revolved around this discipline and its rules and then we present this count of the 6 deaths in the last year, which includes from August 2018 to August 2019 ”

This sport must be played yes or yes with a reprister, where compliance with the norms, that every minimum conflict of violence the referee intervenes and must put some sanction to the player, if this will go to greater in a match until the repairi He is in charge of sanctioning him for months and that is why each player must control as much as possible, since many do not usually have the same character and much less if it is an important match for them.

The most common problems in rugby are serious injuries, they can get quadriplegic, with motor problems or lesions in the nail, ribs, neck or other parts of the body and this is due to some technique such as a Tackle, Scrumm, Ruck or other game formations, which were caused badly when playing.

We can also find the violence even in the same coaches, since, the game is led by a coach, where they give orders to each player to perform and how they must perform a technique in the game, so it is very important to have an educator that can form them in a strict way, but also that it has a clear objective in the game and thus this way violent acts will not occur within the.

“Violence in the rugby, on and off the court’ Kerschen talks about:

Violent players and sentences that “acquire bad habits within a field where, a priori, violence is not installed. If they are violent, it is because they are maple social. Rugby can be played loyally."

He also understands that the rugby of before, is not like the one now, the one of before could see more violent actions, such as pushing between players, nailing the plugs of the booties on the back or some other part of the body, etc. , and that is why there is now much more priority such as that even your own club where you play can punish you for some violent action you take. But in this way it should not be noted that today there were no other violent action.

That is why it is very important to be well trained when educating, in which, each person or player will give the example of what was taught.

Hypothesis

Today most adolescents and young people who participate in the sport called Rugby tend to have violent behavior, since they live within a violent society, full of inequality, which originates in families, as it also occurs in schools And later go to the streets and/or work.

Goal

Give the necessary strategies and prevention to each of them when it comes to being present within a violent act.

Methodology

In this research work the quantitative methodology was used, in which questions regarding violence in sport and their surroundings were asked.

Result

The results obtained in this survey imply in conclusion that if there is a correlation between the hypothesis raised, since, the people who participated in this questionnaire leave the percentage obtained based on the fact that the teachers, coaches and relatives have that being mostly trained to prevent any situation of violence that may be in your environment. As we know not only in sport these events occur, but also in the daily life of each of us and that is why Rugby athletes also have to be aware when practicing sport knowing that they can hurt or harm another player or even a partner.

conclusion

Based on the hypothesis and with the results obtained in my research work I can say that it had a positive result, since the majority of those who participated in the survey carried out sports only for hobby and not of competition, and that is why it is important to know that Violence can also happen even in a friendly party and that it can appear even in adult ages, it is very important that we can all be trained to prevent these facts and thus achieve a healthy sport and with values.
