W6 DQ2 Data Interpretation
Over time, criminal justice research has been lacking in validation studies. Experts reckon that is due to three main reasons. First, the professional journals that are done and often available for research are subject to replication. What this means is that there is so much room for plagiarizing work and rendering them invalid.
Similarly, those who do professional journals in criminal justice do not have an interest in publishing replication studies of the previous cases. Even in cases where such journals exist, their use in validation studies has always remained in question (Schutt and Ronet 17). Second, the design faults of the criminal justice research are also to blame. In essence, criminal justice does not offer a chance to review earlier studies like in the healthcare sector, for example. Third, it is argued that there is some climate in the criminal justice field making it difficult for validation studies to prevail (Schutt and Ronet 22). As a response, it is imperative to develop a robust system of validation in the field of criminal justice research; predominantly, because of the nature of issues, it addresses. Indeed, research in this field requires adequate reference as it involves a lot of facts and figures yet such can only be realized if validation studies are immensely incorporated. For example, the validation system will make it easier to create a more efficient and fair justice system. Additionally, it will also enhance the trust and safety that the community has towards the justice system that serves them (Schutt and Ronet 31).

Finally, like in any other field, validation studies will make the criminal justice research more believable, and the findings will enhance the progress of the profession by addressing existing gaps for the betterment of the profession and service delivery.
