Experimental design deals with the procedure as well as methods through which nursing experiments are done. In the experimental research, the elements that are used in the research project are in the control of the individual conducting the research (Eugene, 2018). These elements include but not limited to variables concerned in the research, the environment, observation made by the researcher and the population involved in the study. However, just like any other field of research, nursing doesn’t apply experimental research more frequently. This is because nursing uses more of human in most of their activities and research and some animals on rare occasions.
Experimental design normally applies the random assignment, independent variables manipulation and the strict controls. These enhance the cause-of-effect relationship confidentiality. The use of random assignment ascertains that all the variables have similar and equal chances to be used in either control or the experimental group. The application of the random assignment also does away with the biasness that can be experienced during the experiment. There are various conditions that need to be met for the experimental design to be accomplished but this doesn’t mean that all the experiments that are conducted are true. To differentiate the true experimental design from others, random assignment is used as a condition that distinguishes it from the other experimental assignment.

Wait! What is experimental design? paper is just an example!

In the classification of true experimental design, there has to be a control group, randomization as well as variable manipulation during the examination of the cause or the relationship that exist between the variables used in the experiment (Sousa, Driessnack & Mendes, 2007). In case there are any of the above requirements missing, then the experiment is not considered to be true experimental but quasi-experimental.
