World Food Safety and Crisis

Introduction

According to FAO, migration is "the movement of people within their country or outside its borders, regardless of their motivations, if the movement is voluntary or involuntary, its causes and duration". Safe and orderly migration contributes to sustainable development and economic growth, but in turn this movement has complex challenges for people such as food security.

Food health covers many aspects beyond the physical, especially when an event such as migration affects the patterns of food consumption, schedules and attitudes in the face of what is eaten, in addition, social, emotional, labor and economic aspects directly influenceIn the way we feed.

Many of the migrations are caused by situations of insecurity, search for opportunities, better socio -economic conditions, natural phenomena, political instability, among others. On the other hand, to enjoy a decent life and be able to develop their capabilities and reach their goals, they must have health, a right declared by the UN in article N.º 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is linked to the right to life, well -being, housing, food, freedom and others.

Developing

Migration is not a recent phenomenon, but it has been gradually increasing to such an extent of captivating worldwide attention. The displacement of people, either within their country or through the borders, has been happening for centuries and has recently become an important characteristic of globalization.

Wait! World Food Safety And Crisis paper is just an example!

Migration is considered a social determinant of health, it is also mainly conditioned by the circumstances that are carried out, along its migration route. The health of migrants can vary according to personal characteristics, individual and relational factors, social and community influences, living conditions, socio -economic, cultural and environmental phenomena conditions.

A particular case that has been presenting this situation is in Venezuela due to a political situation which they are facing, people in a state of vulnerability are migrating to different borders and one of them is Colombia, where the State has had to provide resources andefforts to face this reality. The United Nations Organization through a survey conducted by the World Food Program, reported that at least 80% of Venezuelans who escape from the Venezuelan crisis to the Colombian territory suffer from food insecurity.

Food and nutritional insecurity both real and perceived plays a significant role in the decision to migrate from homes. In the same way they are intrinsically linked. The instability in the supply of food experienced by Venezuela in recent years has deepened reaching acute crisis levels during 2018 and the first quarter of this 2019.

On the one hand hunger is one of the factors that cause people to migrate due to situations of necessity as in the case of many Venezuelans, in addition to the millions of migrants suffering from food insecurity, which lead to their health consequences andincluding death. These effects can be determined from the dimensions of food security, in terms of availability, accessibility, adaptation and supply for food consumption, so if people migrate.

There are variations in agricultural production and productivity due to the labor and knowledge that the land requires and the sale of these, likewise, there would be no access and consumption, since if there is no production, there is no consumption and when migrating they must also supplyMany other needs, mainly to survive.

Similarly, the conditions of the health and public health also face a deterioration due to the lack of medicines, vaccines and supplies, because of this, migration of human resource in health, determines that one of the reasons to migrate is theSearch for health care and food. Colombia as a nearby country shows a possibility of improving its life condition for Venezuelan migrants, also acts jointly and neatly despite the tensions and xenophobia that are evidenced.

Therefore, it is important to propose that sustainable agriculture and rural development are factors that can address these deep causes of migration, which are immersed many Venezuelans, such as poverty, food insecurity and nutrition, unemployment and changeclimatic which affect living conditions. These factors are the main ones to which worldwide response should be given to this great migratory challenge. Because of this, the UN Secretary General presented his report, ‘in security and dignity: about addressing the great movements of refugees and migrants’.

This report is based on guaranteeing human rights, security and dignity of refugees and migrants. Mainly emphasizes the development of different inclusive national policies in order to attract migrants to society by providing them with access to basic services to meet their daily physiological needs.

Therefore, the General Assembly of the Americas held a meeting where the New York Declaration for refugees and migrants was adopted, which approved many commitments related to refugees including women at risk and infants, orphaned children, victims of violence, disabled, discriminated and people victims of abuse, in addition to taking into account many sexually transmitted diseases and other medical care needs that migrants can suffer.

An response plan for Venezuelan migrants who arrive in Colombia must be implemented, however, we know that corruption and xenophobia exist and persists. Even so, governments in one way or another must start working to generate the necessary conditions for these people to get opportunities and thus arrive to attend the entire migrant population, since they are exposed to different important factors that condition them to not have a lifefull.

Implement national migrant policies where the health dimension is relevant, from access to health services for many of these people who are in precarious economic conditions, this must be addressed from politics, since it is a fundamental factor which canHelp or that health systems respond better to the needs of migrants, also cover actions that address social inclusion and their conditions of employment, education and housing.

conclusion

In conclusion, migration will continue to be an important component in the transformation processes of the migrate depending on the different challenges to which they face, but regardless of this, a humanitarian reception for migrants is necessary and urgent, in the case ofVenezuelans, many find an inappropriate state of health.

Where the need to access primary, sexual and reproductive health, medicines, drinking water and ensuring balanced feeding and therefore, so that everyone has the possibility of reaching their basic needs is necessary, it is necessary that from development and fundamentallyThe commitment of health policies and programs are addressed these inequities, so that access to the services they require to provide another opportunity for a good quality of life is improved.

Finally, dietitian nutritionists must constantly form sufficient elements and act interdisciplinarily, in such a way that they can establish decisions and recognize the importance and commitment that are required in these situations to be able to take action, at the same time, articulating the theory with theProfessional practice and social commitment to address the scenarios that are presented, in addition to being able to have participation in politics, without neglecting the fact that health and nutrition go hand in hand.
