Abstract
Most people might not be aware of the role America played in the Second World War through the Flying Tigers. It was a troop that comprises American pilots who collaborated with the Chinese. The plane used by this group of the army was unique and sophisticated. In this, essay one gets to understand the strategy that was used in earning the Flying Tigers success. Also through this paper, the opponent (Japan) is spoken of which familiarizes a reader as to why these American pilots were of great significance. China greatly benefitted from the hand lend to them by the Flying Tigers. The Chinese government even wanted to put this US troop under it entirely. As it will be seen in the below essay after the war with Japan, some members of the Flying Tigers agreed to join the Chinese airlines. These group of American pilots is acknowledged as heroes not only by the Chinese citizens but also by their countrymen in the United States.

World War II
The Flying Tigers was an American fighter pilots troop formed in early 1942 during the Second World War. It was also known as the American Volunteer Group whose primary objective was to aid China to battle the Japanese. The Flying Tigers were unique since they were the first Americans to fight against the Japanese apart from using P-40`s fighter decorated with a shark-faced mouth. These Americans heroes achieved great success in their mission although not all of them made it back home.
In Toungoo, Burma Claire Chennault the commander of the unit used his tactical skills to ensure the group understood what their aim was in the battle (Samson, 2012).

He would make any of the pilots recite his (Claire) presentation which made the troop members call these sessions Chennault`s “kindergarten.”Flying P-40 was a challenge since few of the pilots had flown one before. Therefore, Chennault intended to have them gain experience before they went to battle (Kleiner, 2018). With time and practice, the men were familiar with the crafts to the extent that they would stage mock a fight.
The Flying Tigers were in there intense training when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor unexpectedly. They were summoned to China to stop the Japanese who posed as a threat to cities. In December, the American volunteer group attacked the Japanese bombers for the first time taking down four and sabotaging the plot of bomb Kunming. By 24 January 1943, the Flying Tigers had successfully claimed seventy-three Japanese planes accounting to about one-third loss of their bombers as records indicated (Patterson, 2016). Despite Japan’s constant attacks, the Flying Tigers emerged victorious making it desirable to the Chinese government.
In the end, a majority of the Flying Fighters members ended up serving the Chinese national airlines. The Flying Fighters are remembered as the first American heroes to combat the Japanese successively who contributed a great deal in boosting the Americans’ confidence.
