You’ve got a ticket in your hand – Where will you go? What will you do? What will happen when you get there? My parents separated during my younger years. From that time, it is now eight years; I have not seen or heard of my father. I cannot recall his looks, speech or place of work. I could visualize him coming home and carrying me, but it was a dream that never came to pass. I have lived with my mother who could work relentlessly as she was the only wage earner and we had no time to spend together. As a teenager, I could see my friends with their dads going to camp together. Mother tried to fill the space left by dad through registering me in sports of my choice, but I still missed my dad. I finished my high school and hoped he would attend my graduation, but he missed. Therefore, with a ticket in my hands, I would look for my dad wherever he stays or works.
When I get to my dad, I am not certain how he will react to my presence, but there may be two possibilities; one, given that he has not visited us for eight years, he may reject and refuse to see or talk to me. Secondly, due to the father-child bond, he may feel the emotion of reunion and embrace, hug or endeavor to do all that he has not done in the past eight years in a single day. However, it is my prayer for the second possibility to happen.
If he embraces me and gives me the audience, I would persuade him to come home and reconcile with my mother. I believe that time heals and it has been eight years; therefore, whatever their differences, I know it has been eroded with the passing time.

Wait! You’ve got a ticket in your hand – Where will you go? What will you do? What will happen when you get there? paper is just an example!

Further, I would make him see the sense of how life has been to us especially to me by living without him for eight years during the most vital stage of my life.
