Student’s Name

Truth
The truth may be defined in so many ways, but the bottom line is that the truth is a fact or facts that have been verified, or that can be verified. A common adage that is often thrown around says that, “Tell the truth, and that the truth shall set you free.” However, this statement is easier said than done. Saying the truth is theoretically possible and moral in our society. But, sometimes, it has been proved that saying the truth is not always the best thing. In fact, saying the truth can sometimes put you in trouble. That is why the term ‘white lie’ was coined a white lie, is defined as a polite lie that is used tactfully in a given situation to help someone avoid a difficult scenario or an embarrassing eventuality. It is socially accepted to tell white lies, then why do people still use the adage mentioned? In our societies, unfortunately, imperfections are galore. Perhaps the imperfections make us human. In fact, another commonly accepted saying goes by, “human is to err” Mistakes are accepted in the human world and, sadly, lies are part of these mistakes. Humans have accepted the notion that they aren’t perfect and that it is normal to make mistakes, lies included.
There are some practical scenarios in which telling the truth can set one in trouble and probably to everlasting misery. For instance, in marriage or in love relationships, a couple may be deeply in love with each other, but one of them cheats on the other.

Wait! A concept essay paper is just an example!

When the other partner gets wind of the other party’s actions and confronts them, the results maybe end of the relationship. In this case, the so-called white lies have been used to save relationships. People have always defended that some lies are necessary for the greater good. If a lie is told for the benefit of the one being lied to, most people have opted to lie. The lies start early in life, from the toddler stage. People usually toddlers small white lies, especially to keep them in control. These lies usually work and people have come to accept them socially as part of our society
To this end, is then okay to tell lies. Are there situations that lies are better compared to the truth. This debate has been there for centuries, probably since the beginning of time. When people live lies and they later find out, they feel betrayed by whoever may have known about the lies. Adopted children usually get entangled in lies about their biological parents. Lies involving adopted children and in love relationships have been socially accepted and arguments that they are for the greater good usually arise. Governments have also been accused of bending the truth, especially involving their citizenry. Lies are usually used by governments in perpetrating conspiracies. These cases are usually common in governments that exploit their citizenry. These governments usually cover up cases that could lead to national uprising and chaos in the country. National security and the greater good are the common excuses when people bend the truth or tell lies. However, whatever the reasons that people tell lies, the truth will always be superior to lies. Everyone deserves to be told the truth. The truth may not always be easy, but the other party deserves the truth.
