Introduction
Gary, who is a Mexican-American grew up in a neighborhood not so big, nor developed enough to the point where they did not have luxuries or exotic lifestyle but that survival. In order to survive one had to have at list two or more jobs to make ends meet. One day as he was watching a favorite televisions show he encountered a moment that got him thinking about his life and the things he would want to achieve for his future family and himself. Still in his flash forward of his life he wounded, “is this actually how life is.”
Being a nine-year-old, he begins searching for occupations in his neighborhood. In the wake of doing two employments, he acquires a nickel, a quarter and two peaches. He has cash, and he can do whatever he needs. So with a companion and his sister, they go swimming. Cash, to him at this age, influences him enormously as of now. From his family, he discovers that without cash, they will be poor and regular workers. He should be higher in social class, and he needs to be similar to rich individuals.
He desires life like ones on TV. From the shows, he takes in the way white individuals spruce up to eat, their good manners. An immaculate life contrasted with his. As he has supper, he replays the show in his brain, he sees that his family’s “uproarious with paunch chuckles and stamped by our guiding folks at one another.” (29) He finds this diverse and wishes his family toward change; he does as such by asking his sibling and sister to wear shoes to supper.

Notwithstanding, his family did not participate and proceeded with their life obviously.
He is a hued kid who simply needs to be preferred by white individuals. This is indicated later on, after supper, when the kid talk and the younger sibling asks, “What is the point of getting dressed up?”(29) Gary suspected that on the off chance that they looked better, similar to whites, they would be loved by the white. He lets them know this; in any case, even his more youthful sister realized that would not happen. Gary is a Mexican-American, they are a regular workers family and being a tyke, he sees they are distinctive. All he needs is to fit in and be loved by everybody. Therefore, from staring at the TV programs, he figures out how white individuals act and tries to duplicate them, trusting he would be preferred.
Through Gary`s desires it shows he is a dedicated man who was ready to embrace change for the better good that initially brought him success in his life in today`s life. This story is a teaching all that dreams are relevant if consistently cultivated on.
