Abraham and Sarah’s Bad Decisions
Abraham and Sarah always endeavored to live lives that pleased God. As a man with a lot of faith in the Lord, Abraham got promised several good tidings in life. However, it is notable that even in striving to live right, a man can sway out of the required path. This case scenario is what happened to Abraham and Sarah jeopardizing their promised blessings. Firstly, they made wrong decisions when Sarah decided to lose hope in God giving her a child thus taking matters into her own hands. They disregarded consulting God on this matter. Therefore, Abraham slept with Hagar to get a child and hide Sarah’s shame. This issue sparked conflict between them as agar started causing disharmony in the life of Sarah. The result was havoc, blame games, and denial by Abraham on his wrongdoing (Davidson, 1979). Sarah mistreated Hagar under the watch of Abraham causing Hagar to flee from the only source of blessing to all humankind.
Furthermore, Abraham sent Hagar and her son Ishmael away instead of recognizing his fault and embracing the two as part of his family. It is through the intervention of God that Hagar and Ishmael got saved at the face of death. This story challenges us as Christians to question our salvation and walk with God. It also implores us to watch whenever we are involved in irresponsible acts because they come with consequences. Finally, one is challenged to take care whenever seeking counsel from others to avoid going astray.

Wait! Abraham and Sarah’s Bad Decisions paper is just an example!

This story comforts us by showing us that even in very tough situations God sees us through (Davidson, 1979). The Lord is merciful enough to come to our aid even when we have deep in sin just like he was with Hagar and Ishmael.
