The most compelling topics learned in this course include but not limited to the accounting environment, financial accounting research tools, auditing and assurance services, tax research, compliance, and planning (Weirich, Pearson & Churyk, 2013). Research on accounting or auditing, as well as the tools and strategies, enables excel in professional designations by integrating skills and knowledge garnered from the course. A topic like accounting environment help understand the various factors that may influence the development of standards such as tax laws, regulatory bodies, disagreements or influence of professional organizations. By learning research tools like codification, internet or AICPA online, a professional will be able to understand the database strategies and know the challenge of accounting research (Chen, Collins, Kravet & Mergenthaler, 2018). Assurance or auditing research, on the other hand, cover the code of professional conducts, consulting services and create a comprehensive knowledge of the accounting dynamics.
Participating in discussion helped me broaden an understanding of various approaches to researching accounting and auditing concepts. The discussion gave an opportunity to exchange information with other students, listen to their points, ask and clarify issues. When someone is curious enough, he or she gets to learns a lot by being actively involved in a discussion (Reid, 2018).

Also, the discussion boards post makes it easy to communicate with instructors, allowing a chance to review options and information that might assist further understanding of the assignment. Participating in the forum ensured more clarity such that nothing was left unclear to be clarified.
In my opinion, some of the approaches that I feel might have yielded more valuable information is brainstorming ideas on different or unknown subjects for more facts. Besides, holding a teleconference meeting could make the discussion livelier as participant brainstorm different opinion pertaining best research approaches while sharing experience on the use of tools such as the internet. Also, I would suggest the method of plan-do-check-act as an approach to solving difficult problems. The plan helps identify the root cause of a problem.
