Aesthetics is one of the branches of philosophy related to art and beauty. How beautiful an image can contain is not fixed, different visions of beauty have been.

The main philosophers considered in the history of this discipline are: Plato, Aristotle, Hume and Baumgarten among others. The latter established the philosophical bases of reflection on beauty. According to Baumgarten the aesthetics "is a science of sensitive knowledge". Man does not reduce to knowledge or, rather, knowledge is not only scientific, since there is also knowledge of the sensitive: this knowledge is autonomous and is not a lower and instrumental step for scientific knowledge.

Beauty has been a value as old as philosophy itself, and, as such, desired and desirable, whose real presence, as Saint Thomas already said, gives us delight, are beautiful those things that are pleasant to see.

Current society expresses a clear cult of the beauty of the body. Today those who enjoy good presence have, and only for that reason, greater chances of success.

In my opinion, although society imposes you some prototypes of beauty, each person has a different vision of the beautiful and what for one is beautiful for another is the opposite.

The human being likes to look good not only inside but also on the outside. We need not only to be accepted by society, but also accept ourselves, something essential to achieve the first.

Aesthetics influences our self – esteem, since if we are accepted by our friends and society it makes us feel good with ourselves, but it is not the only factor, since we must take into account other factors such as: the social, cultural and psychologicalwhich are also very important to have a good vision of ourselves and therefore feel good.

However, we must be careful with the obsessive extreme to which current society can take us, since its beauty canons are very demanding and in most of the unattainable occasions. Although aesthetics influences the human being, since we always tend to look at the beautiful, I also believe that current society values it excessively causing many dissatisfaction with many people even to the point of the disease, since trying to reach the parameters thatSociety demands us a lot of frustration.

In conclusion, aesthetics is presented as a fundamental part of human formation. The aesthetic element is an essential component in the balance of personality and the person. Aesthetics is not only referred to the external beauty of the human being, but it covers other disciplines such as art, literature, etc. In all of them an aesthetic is sought that causes pleasant sensations to be accepted by most of society.
