I agree that killing in self-defense is appropriate. However, the contrast between civil law and religion in this matter cannot be overlooked. The Bible illustrates the nobility in killing for self-defense in many ways. The article quotes Exodus 22 that explicitly defines immediate self-defense actions even with the use of lethal weapons. A line is clearly drawn between self-defense and vengeance. The story of David is a strong expression of self-defense. David killed many for the protection of God’s people thus winning recognition in God’s favor.
Civil law is present to even the cards. All citizens are not Christians, some believe in Islamic law, others are Buddhist, and some have utterly no belief in supremacy. Civil law in such a case acts as a unifying factor that is indiscriminative of social factors like gender, religion, and age. With similar sentiments to Christianity, the civil law provides for the protection of an individual’s life and property. The constitution allows killing for self-defense but not vengeance (Gardner & Anderson, 2018).
The definition of criminal justice in the two situations contrasts thus sparking different opinions. Civil law protects the civil rights of an individual as clearly indicated in the constitution, ‘The Protection of Persons and Property’s Act.’ Likewise, religion also protects the individual’s rights of safety and protection by elaborating on righteousness.

Wait! Agree or Disagree paper is just an example!

However, religion seeks to prevent criminal actions while civil law is there to ensure the control of criminal actions through punishment. Therefore, criminal law upholds self-defense for the protection of property and body safety at all costs. Religion in reverse insists that an act of murder is a sin.
In conclusion, I agree with the ideology of limitless self-defense actions as portrayed in the bible and by the civil law. There is every reason to use force to protect a household from bodily harm and property destruction.
