This article is very informative about Julius Ceasar’s character. According to the article, despite being celebrated in different things, Caesar did not judge situations wisely all the time. For example, Caesar’s wife and the priests had advised him not to go to the Senate on the day of his death, but due to an error in judgment, he did not pay attention. Lack of proper judgment was Caesar’s most significant flaw that eventually led to his death.

The interesting thing about this article is that it covers the last moments of Julius Caesar differently from other writings. Other pieces state that Caesar’s last words were “Et tu, Brute?” which translates to “Even you, Brutus?” However, this article states that Caesar’s last words were:”You, too, my child?” It makes me feel sorry for Julius Caesar because he loved Brutus and even considered Brutus as his child. To learn that a person he regards so highly could betray him as much makes me empathize with Julius Caesar.

From this article, I learned about the life of Julius Caesar from his childhood to his tragic death.

The article is interesting because it states that Caesar’s gens, the Julii, were members of Rome’s original aristocracy. Therefore, Julius Caesar was a patrician, which made him noble. However, growing up, he did not have the privilege that children born in nobility have, and as such, it is easy for me to identify with him.

In this article, I learned about Caesar’s pride, which eventually led to his death. Julius Caesar accomplished so much that he let pride get the better of him. The Senate supported him until he declared himself a dictator. According to the article, Julius Caesar made his birthday a national holiday before renaming a month after his family, July. This shows that he was a proud person, and not everyone was happy about his pride.

This article talks about what happened to the family of Julius Caesar before he became a leader. According to the article, his family was persecuted, and he almost faced banishment after refusing to renounce his love for Cornelia. By reading this history, one understands why Julius Caesar was obsessed with power. Caesar did not deserve the punishment the Senate meted on him because of everything he had gone through in life. The penalty was too much considering the things he had done for the country as a leader.
