Every profession demands the highest level of ethical standards. This is especially applicable in the law enforcement all the other carriers require a tremendous degree of ethical consideration and discipline from the workers. For the police officers, they have some tools that they use to enforce the law at their disposal. Some of these include professional communication skills that they can use to calm down a situation. Aside from this, the police officers have firearms that they can use when things get dangerous. In many cases, it is not easy to assess the level of threat that is posed by the public to the police officers. It is therefore crucial for the law enforcement agencies to have proper protocols that can be used to enforce the law.
The first what is that police officer have to leave within the law. Numerous instances where the actions will the police erect scrutinized by the public and other professionals. The police officers have to understand that these professionals are waiting for them to make a mistake so that they can be brought to book. It is crucial for police officers to be good examples to the public so that they do not get entangled into additional cases.
In law enforcement, the agency has to state the rules clear so that the police officers can follow and ensure ethics is observed while serving the public (Westmarland, & Rowe, 2018). For example, before an arrest, a police officer has to state the rights of a suspect before they are arrested.

Also, it is the right of the suspect to remain silent. The agency has to educate the police not to force the suspects to admit mistakes that they are not aware of. Some of the rules and regulations that are important in the police force should be passed to every member of the organization. This will make it an important facet for all the officers to follow. Responses to riots and protests are some of the challenging tasks for the police officers. In such a situation, it is important for the agency to state the correct procedures that a police officer can use to handle these situations. It is not advisable to beat the locals or the public in general. It is appropriate that the law is followed while implementing the law enforcement duty.
In conclusion, despite having all the tools at their disposal that they can use to impulse the law, police officers have to follow the rules and regulations. When agencies create law enforcement policies, they should be ready to elaborate to the policies for them to understand it better. It is through this verbal communication that will ensure ethics within the police service is followed.
