Critique of The refugee debate hides the real threat from the Islamic State
The article is a response to the attacks that were experienced in Paris, France within the last two weeks that claimed the lives of some the French Citizens including a group that had gone to watch a match between the National team and the German side. There have been several complaints from the Republicans who have been in the match to try and spread fear across the country. However, President Barrack Obama has resorted to using his dismissive attitude on these claims; he even decided to own up to the public fear regarding the presence of the Syrian refugees in the country (Marcus). There has been no doubt that maybe the Islamists attacks are as a result of President Bush’s attack in Iraq; probably these terrorists are flying into the country as refugees yet the president is just simply admitting even more and more refugees into the same country (Laqueur, 1987). The country claims that it is just a very minute population of these terrorists that have been involved in plotting crimes; however it will always just take a few to be able to create such a threat in the country (Marcus).
This article has recognized that indeed the current society that we are operating in is a threat in itself. The article does not fail to make sure that it does impress by mentioning how the government has been making sure that it does deal with the few terrorist. I feel that this article is only getting to try and interrupt with some of the policies that have been long held by the Americans (Laqueur, 1987).
Wait! Argumentative Essay paper is just an example!
Since it is President Obama then he is up for criticism when he has simply done the same thing that all other presidents have done; that is to make sure that he undermines terrorists to the lowest capacity that is possible (Marcus). The country needs not to feel that this is a major challenge that could be running the government into shackles. President Obama is only trying to make sure that the Americans are more settled at heart as compared to fear mongering; a character that should only be from the opposition side as such.
I also feel that the admission of further Syrian citizens is not wrong in any way; the country has international obligations to perform, and this is the same thing that it is doing by admitting the Syrian citizens into the country. It will not be so right to generalize all Syrians as criminals yet for most of them they are simply victims of circumstances. The country needs to be united and sympathize with the Syrian victims. They must not be enjoying the fact that they have to be refugees in another country; it is a major challenge to them too. Therefore, it will not be right to punish the whole group over a mistake that has been committed by a very small group as such (Laqueur, 1987).
I appreciate what has been stated that it only takes a few to cause damage; a good attack will not need very high numbers. The pronouncers of such an idea have a point in itself; they are only trying to mention the fact that the country should not assume the Syrians and think of them as having been good, some of them are the master-planners of the attacks that are taking place. It needs not be carried out by a large number, but rather a small number could form an imminent threat (Marcus).
