Analysis
Although Uber has a stronger network in the market than Lyft, there are several shortfalls under which the firm can utilize and exploit to pin down the giant. The following weaknesses in the Uber Company provide Lyft with excellent opportunities to capitalize on:
Implications
The leadership wrangles and the constant resignation of executives portray the firm as one marred by mysteries. The recent departure of the Liane Hornsey, the head of human resources means that the position is yet to be filled by a competent employee. It implies that Uber has employee-retention crisis.
Assertions
It thus paves the way for the firm to attract the futuristic talents as most workers would avoid Uber for fear of job security (Isaac and Benner para. 4). The retention rates in Uber are below our laid standards. The controversy in the article written in Uber rape case adds up on the pile of negative publicity for Uber which increases Lyft’s appeal.
Recommendation
Lyft could also learn from the mistakes that Uber is committing by failing to address the HR issues in race considerations thereby strategically placing itself in the minds of the customers.

Lyft can utilize a concrete system that cannot be compromised regarding customer’ privacy.

The Uber drivers are particularly unhappy with their profit margins and would decamp to a better offer.

Coming up with better incentives for the drivers would a long way to ensuring that Lyft gets an adequate number of drivers.

The self-driving cars, although an advantage as they cut costs, raise serious ethical considerations.

On testing the Uber self-driving taxi, it resulted in one fatality, a situation which complicated the commencement of the project (Bort para. 2). That notwithstanding, the issue of laying down the drivers and the employees to pave the way for the robots create job insecurity for the existing drivers and if an option is availed well in advance, Lyft might take-on Uber. The analysis is from the dents taken by the firm regarding the public relations.

Introduce a system that is ethically accepted and one aimed at job satisfaction.

Uber relies on the technologically savvy individuals in a futuristic outlook and is thus hampered by the low levels of digital literacy in developing countries.

However, most developing nations record low levels of digital literacy, and thus they cannot use the service. It is heavily dependent on the internet which may prove challenging in the developing nation (Bhashin para. 3).
Recommendation
Noting this disadvantage, Lyft may mount a strong opponent I the developing countries as an alternative transport system that relies on somewhat primitive methods like telephones only.
