Biopsychology is a specialty that applies principles of biology to study behavior of humans and animals. It is commonly called biological psychology. Some of the sub-branches in this specialty include the development of mind, learning, memory, cognition, emotions, intelligence, language, and several psychological disorders. Biopsychology is a career possibility that I am interested in because it seeks to address psychological and mental disorders. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the field will help me achieve my dream of being a physician but of mental illnesses. I like being a problem solver for the people suffering from such disorders, for example, Alzheimer’s disease. On the other hand, perception psychology details human’s ability to understand or become aware of certain things with aid of senses. Specialty areas in this subject include personality, motivation, critical thinking, and senses such as touching, hearing, tasting. Perception psychology does not fascinate me and thus it’s not a career field for me (Kuther & Morgan, 2012).
I did not know that psychology addresses as many issues in life as it has been explained. I did not know that a child’s physical and mental development is a topic in psychology (Halonen, 2011). It really excited me to know the process of child development. I can now tell what is expected of a kid at each and every given moment. Biopsychology has essentially played a big role in informing us why a child being 6 months and above will direct everything towards the mouth (swallowing reflex).

Wait! Biopsychology and Perception Psychology paper is just an example!

On the other hand, perception psychology has explained to me why critical thinking is crucial before making a decision. Rationality of every individual indicates a person’s mental and sensory alertness. It is necessary to think critically.
Biopsychology is the backbone of mental hospitals. Mad or insane people are never taken to ordinary hospitals. Rather a facility is put in place to handle mental illness apart. This means that disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease require a psychologist to treat. Thus, biopsychology is a good career possibility for the future. Perception psychology also, challenges individuals to work smart and consider various probabilities before coming up with specific alternative. Critical thinking helps to reduce losses and time wastage.
