Breast cancer is a common cancer diagnosed in women across the globe. It has been there for centuries and was initially believed to be a killer disease. In fact, before the1960s, people never wanted to talk about this condition in public. Many struggled with it personally or with loved ones. The introduction of the Canadian breast cancer foundation was of great help as it increased breast cancer awareness both to those directly affected and those unaffected. Today, this condition is no longer a private disease as it is in the public limelight and many women can now survive it. This organization has led to the reduction of breast cancer cases besides improving the lives of breast cancer victims (Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation n.p). I have to say that the Canadian breast cancer foundation is my favorite association since its fight against this disease has enabled my mom and grandmother to become breast cancer survivors.
The Canadian breast cancer foundation has played an important role in helping millions of females to fight this disease. Its efforts have reduced deaths associated with this condition (Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation n.p). Again, it is through this organization people have come to know that early detection results in effective treatment and saves lives. This has increased survival rates. People now understand that breast cancer does not have to be a killer disease. The Canadian breast cancer foundation is involved in raising funds to ensure that breast cancer patients have access to early screening and different treatment options.
