Introduction
There is a challenge that is brought about by different cultures and background regarding the use of language. Amy Tam is an English writer who has challenges because she comes from a family where her mother did not speak fluent English. She is despised for this reason, and it affects her education and work. Her boss even tells her that writing is not her thing because she does not come from an English speaking native family. In her Mother’s Tongue story, she narrates how her mother’s inability to speak good English affected her. Louis Urea is a Mexican-American writer who in his Nobody’s Son story explains how his childhood was a mixture of both opposites. Urea explains how his mother despised him because he could not speak fluent English. Both of these stories show how the characters got affected by their family, and culture background tearing them between two worlds. Both these stories contain a theme of shame, culture effects and education. This work seeks to look at the effects of culture and background to one’s language while growing up and the results it brings in their life.
Conclusion
The work sought to look at the effects of culture and background to one’s language while growing up and the results it brings in their life. Both Tam and Urea felt that their background was a cause of shame in their life because people looked down on them because of their poor English speaking background. This did not stop them from excelling though.

Wait! Comparaison paper is just an example!

Tam and Urea did see it necessary to be mistreated because of their background. From these stories, I learnt that the background one does not define their excellence in life. Despite being despised, Tan joins College and majors in English which she was told was not her thing.
