Understanding the Film Reviews
Introduction
According to avclub.com, the film, “Completely Unknown” is captivatingly mysterious, until it is not mysterious anymore. The film is very controversial following the identity of the main actor. It is in this view that a person may need to understand the meaning of personal identity. In the film, the personal identity of Alice remains mysterious as her identity changes from one scene to another. People who reviewed the film also questions the possible value of the personal identity in their film. This paper explores the meaning and the value of the film, with a focus on the development of personality, and how transitive personality may influence the quality of a film.
Positive Review
According to Calvin Wilson who posted his review of the film on rottentomatoes.com, the film has a lot of positive to take away, especially on personality. Wilson wrote, “Despite its flaws, ‘Complete Unknown’ raises provocative questions about the nature of identity and whether it’s more a comfort or a trap (Wilson 1).”
According to Wilson, the character traits of Alice that changes from an environmental biologist as Connie to a surgeon as Paige, and as a magician’s assistant in China with the name Mae, as a business woman in Ohio and as a swimmer in Amazon are all positive. Wilson believes that the beauty of the personality is to fit in every situation that they need. The ability to change the charter traits, the behavior and the actions one posts to the public depending on the situation is an important aspect that people should inculcate.

Wait! Complete Unknown paper is just an example!

In the moral development of the theme of love and family, it can be viewed that Wilson’s position informs Alice’s final decision to settle with Tom, though Tom is half happy in his marriage. Now that Tom’s wife is moving away for her studies, Tom will have a good reason not to accompany her and possibly remain behind to be with the former fiancée. If a person can change their character depending on the situation and the change leads to stability and people’s success, then there is no reason why people would be fixed with one character. It would be better if people can keep on changing their characters for the good of their achievements and the people around them.
Negative Review
Character instability is considered a vice to many people. Most of the video reviews have scored below average with most negative reviews castigating the plot and the changing character roles. It became difficult to follow the genres and the themes that are related to the film. Stephen Skudlarek gave one of the reviews on rottentomatoes.com. According to Skudlarek, the film is not good enough. He wrote, “Not particularly good. Decent acting and Weisz is pretty good here, but the story is idiotic and poorly thought-out” (Skudlarek 2).
The sentiments can be easily related to the video that remains disjointed and lacks general flow. Viewers cannot make out who the main character is in reality. When she is first identified by Tom in Tom’s birthday party as his ex-girlfriend, she denies, but later admits. That is best described as lying, a vice that should not be entertained. Moreover, Skudlarek notes that she disappeared mysteriously and Tom even thought that she died since she did not communicate. Now the decision to come back to destroy Tom’s family gives her a character trait as one who should not be seen as a superhero. One wonders if she will not change mind and separate with Tom after crumbling his marriage.
