A mid-pregnant woman is hospitalized after being attacked by a 14-year-old in her home. The woman was stabbed in the stomach and chest severally on a Thursday night. Surrounding neighbors describe the woman named Pie-Jiun Cheah as a physiotherapist. The lady had never met the teenager before. The attacker was arrested in a close by a residence where he hid and was taken to a hospice where he is expected to undergo surgery for his injured hands under police guard. She and her partner were expecting their first child despite the partner being away at the time of incidence.
The reason for selecting the Mt Collar Stabbing article is to identify why young offenders are treated differently as compared to adults on serious criminal activities like stabbing. In addition to that, the article entails the elements of criminal justice which include police, parole, judiciary, probation, and prison (Lucy, 2018). The article is relevant to the course and weekly topics because the victim’s interest has to be equated with the due process rights of the defendant.
Young offenders have been on a spree for getting away with criminal behaviors in many scenarios. The article describes how the victim was able to walk to a neighbor’s house to ask for help despite the several stabbing but limits the information of how the 14-year-old came into contact with the victim. Some neighbors claim not to have known the victim and the victim claims not to know the attacker.

Wait! Criminal theories.edited paper is just an example!

It is shocking how scenario brought fear in a location that had observed peace for several years.
To conclude, preventing crime is as significant as punishing offenders despite the age brackets. The 14-year-old should be presented before the court and face the criminal charges. There are various ways of punishing offenders ranging from imprisonment, a residence requirement, community service, a curfew, among others with consideration of the crime and the age of the offender.
