The population size of New York is high compared to the size of other cities. According to the United States Census Bureau (2018), the population of the city has been estimated as of July 2017 to be approximately 8.6 million. The city has had a 5.5% increase in population from April 2010 to July 2017. Consequently, this high population makes New York as the most populated city in America.
