1A. Choosing the right study is imperative to the wellbeing of the research (Devault, “Qualitative or Quantitative”). The reason why business leaders sometimes prefer quantitative over qualitative research data is that of its propensity to examine cause and effect relationships. Quantitative research data can be collected in large amounts resourcefully and swiftly, yielding a holistic overview that surpasses beyond the value bestowed by enlisted survey participants. It bolsters the companies and business’s ability to forecast the market economically and financially while also identifying viable targets for interventions. It has proved itself as a viable tool to handle sensitive topics as the quantitative questionnaires are inherently ethical and can be made completely anonymous.
1B. The benefits of using quantitative data are multifarious. It augments the generalization of outcomes through the incorporation of a greater number of subjects, thereby constituting a comprehensive scope of study with greater impartiality and precision of results (Scherbaum & Shockley 11). It has proven reliability and validity through the employment of prescribed procedures that are based upon specific standards. These standards can be easily modified and replicated to enable comparison across categories and over time. It recapitulates vast sources of information and abets prevention of personal bias by allowing the participants to remain anonymous, unknown to the primary researcher.

1C. The primary shortcoming of quantitative research is the fabrication of superficial datasets, absent of any detail or narrative. It does not embrace human perception and is usually carried in a simulated and unnatural environment to enable a certain degree of control over the exercise. This can produce varying results if replicated in a real environment.
1D. Quantitative methods are the best approach if the user needs to assess theories to construct hypothesis or in order to make holistic generalizations over entire populations. They are of particular importance when extensively generalizing and comparing information between different populations or from within a specific population.
