The theme of mortality is constantly repeated in the representation of families in the science fiction novels where death is seen as the ultimate enemy. All the characters struggle to do the unbelievable in pursuit of immortality.
In American fictional stories, time appears to be a reoccurring element where the protagonists are seen to travel back and forth from the past to the future and vice versa. Travelling in time provides the opportunity people need to make a difference in life.
All the characters in the American Science fiction narratives are portrayed as outsiders who are unable to fit in the society.
