There is a need to assess gaps in an organization that need to be filled through training. A company may need to train employees based on industry needs, task-related needs as well as job-related needs. Numerous techniques can be used to assess the need for training. Needs assessment data is essential for organizations. This information can be obtained by assessing HR metrics, carrying out surveys, assessing strategic plans as well as reviewing performance appraisals.
It is important to analyze the data and, therefore, discover performance problems. The next step involves describing the critical behaviors that are essential to affect the problems.
